Truth behind Michael Moore

  1. I'm BY NO MEANS trying to get any kind of "who's right/who's wrong" debate going here, but I thought everyone might find this interesting.

"Bowling For Columbine" has been researched, and apparantly is quite "fictitious" (to use MM's new favorite word).

I'm thinking that if everyone knew this, they probably wouldn't be quite so snowed over by his pseudo-documentary.

This first link is to the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal...

This link is to David Hardy's web site. He's "a former Interior Department lawyer who delights in debunking government officials and pompous celebrities"....

I think what bothers me the most, though, is that he won an Oscar for a DOCUMENTARY, which means it is supposed to be true. And he beat out other nominees who did work that wasn't misleading, or an attempt at notariety.
This really makes me sick. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for those links. I work with a guy who thinks that "documetary" is one of the best works to come out of Hollywood in years. I'll have to show him this. Gary

Rush Limbaugh has been saying the same things about Michael Moore for years. I think he is an America hater.

    Thanks for the link!

Wow, thanks for those links. I heard him called a buffoon yesterday . . .

I've never thought he portrayed gun owners accurately. I live in a rural community with pickup and gun racks and nobody up here is a mass murderer.

p.s. so . . .since his movie is not a documentary in the rules of the Academy . .shouldn't his Oscar be taken away?

That was my question exactly!!! It didn't seem fair to me, when other documentary makers worked hard to create a truthful piece of art, that he can create a deceitful piece of anti-American propaganda, and be applauded for it.

This is JMO, of cource, but I think he's a jacka**.

I liked the way he "invited" all the other nominees on stage w/him when he accepted his Oscar, and then proceeded to throw his little fit about our President and the war. Those other nominees, I'm sure, had no idea he was going to make those comments, and were stuck up on stage w/him as if they agreed.

I think that was good proof of his honesty and decency.
