Triplets of Belleville

  1. Anyone see this animated movie? Yes, I know, I'm SO behind the times, as it came out in 2003!! I haven't seen it yet, but after hearing the fantastic CD from it, dh and I want to at least rent the DVD. The title piece is SO WACKY and catchy! We love it, and most of the other pieces on the CD are almost as good as the title number. So, I was wondering if anyone had seen the movie and how did you like it? I looked up various reviews via google, and people who took time to post, for the most part, were very impressed and entertained with the animation (sometimes not as much with the story) and all that was accomplished by its makers.
If you get the chance, hear the title number from "The Triplets of Belleville!"

my hubby watched it said it was one of the funniest things he has ever seen. I was on the couch studying so i don't remember most of it though i was in the room, It is kind of quirky but i got the feeling that if i had the time to watch i would have enjoyed it too.

I hated it. Was completely bored and held hostage by it since I was on an airplane. I know, I am probably the only person in the world who didn't like it, but I am not afraid to admit it. I also hated the English Patient.

I liked it more than I thought I would. It kinda stuck with me for a few days.

I really, really liked it. But then, I really, really like the French (having been a French major a lifetime ago). It is a weird little movie...and the music is really catchy!

My 15-year-old son thought it was very melancholy in spots (he has a tender heart) but also funny -- and he loved the grandma.

It kind of dragged for me. But it was very cute: something you shouldn't miss if you're not used to the french kind of slow, "Le boucher" humor.

Actually, what am I saying? God, NO! DON'T see that film! I was about to kill nyself when the dog barked at the train for the 20th time. Especially if youre already weird. It will make you a weirder person even.
