Tragedy in Toledo

  1. This afternoon a crane collapsed during construction of the I-280 river crossing project. 3 construction workers are confirmed dead, and 5 more are injured. 2 of the 5 are critical. Fortunately, the crane did not fall across the highway, where countless motorists could have been hurt. Please keep the families in your prayers as they are reeling from this accident.

    wow, i'm in ohio too, and didn't even hear of this tragedy...... familys and all are definitely in my prayers.

    I saw this on the news as well - how horrible. I work for a company that manufactures heavy equipment (such as cranes) and we hear cases like this of tragic accidents more often than I'd like to admit.

    Speaking of horrific accidents, during one of my recent sleepness nights I caught some show on Fox that I assume was called "Max X" that was showing footage of horrible accidents and then making humorous comments about it. I thought it was in EXTREMELY poor taste....

    UPDATE: The one construction worker who was in critical condition, has died today from hos injuries bringing the death toll up to 4.

    My husband works with one of the workers. Very tragic but could have been much much worse.
