Too hot to sleep

  1. This is weird.....just a few days ago I was shivering in my winter coat, today I wore shorts all day. I can't sleep because of the heat....not all that warm but a very sudden change from what it's been.

Hm.....last year we spent the entire month of March swimming in the rain!

    You swine.

Actually it seems kinda stuffy here too. I think it's why I am having trouble sleeping ...

    How's the demon child situation?

Yeah, such a shame, those southerners having to shovel the snow in their Birkenstocks. (Rick Mercer)

    I guess "hot" is relative - it's actually 27 - but hey (shrug) - it's all good.

Where ya been? Or just on different threads than I?

Going fine. Mom learned that her daughter is not a pushover like I was as a child, and that bluffing me will not work but will achieve the opposite effect.

DD#1, on the other hand.........is p.o.'d because she thinks Hubs and I lied to her about something. We didn't lie, we just never told her and she found out recently. She's in her "I can't trust anyone" mode right now and says she can only count on her boyfriend. I had to bite my tongue because I wanted to ask her "You mean the boyfriend you've lied to by omission about leaving the area after graduation???"

When someone trieds to inflict guilt - 9 times out of 10 it IS something they are guilty of themselves!

So why are you biting your tongue about her hypocrisy? Because truly, in a primary relationship, she DOESN'T want to start lying (by omission or otherwise) ... If that was turned on her by the BOYFRIEND, she would be some mad, wouldn't she?

Just remember, kids are weird, AND they don't start appreciating their parents til they have grown up some!

ps - When I say "primary", I'm referring to significant other/spouse/BF/GF. As far as parents go, they are not obligated to tell their kids ANYthing .. and it's their right NOT to.

Thanks, Zoe. I know all that but it helps to hear it from someone else....that I'm on the right track.

My air conditioner is on right now. I've needed it in the afternoons.

There was one weird day last week when I turned on the heat to take off the chill in the air, and then the air conditioner in the afternoon. I'm so spoiled.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. For the past 5 days its been hot at night. It was 80 degrees today and tomorrow is supposed to be 85. Its 1030pm and its 70 degrees.

But the only thing I'm not complaining about is not having the urge to eat. Love the summer because I eat less and lose weight LOL.:spin:

I hate cold weather so this "heat wave" of 77 degrees is welcome. I feel alive, like my soul woke up after being encased in ice. My mood is better. I love it.

Of course, we could just as easily get snow again - so I'm not counting my chickens before the hatch . ..
