Todays' YAHOO NEWS: The nations speak out against a regime change !

  1. After hearing what Bush and Cheney had to say yesterday about ousting Saddam Hussein, the nations of the world were quick to say they ARE NOT aligned with the U.S. to attack Iraq. Turkey, Syria, India, Pakistan, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, China, all spoke out today and said "No!".

Read their comments on Yahoo news. All of these countries spoke out today after the Bush people said the other countries would line up with us.

Other countries have been saying no for the past week.

Dick Cheney is a little unnerving...."Saddaam is a new Hitler!" (bad as he is, I think that rating gives SH too much credit.) As for effectively comparing himself (DC) to Churchill in being a lone voice speaking out against the tyrant, well that is way too far a stretch!

Words fail me ....Cheney comparing himself to Churchill. It

absolutely reflects how out of touch with reality the old crook is.

And how arrogant they both are.

Plenty of Republicans who voted for them are now asking themselves... ..."What happened?" (to the guys I voted for)

The entire world......recognizes their arrogance. Cheney's

ticker is certainly not getting enough O2 to the brain. I

anticipate him having the big one any day. Two more years of

Cowboy George. I'm afraid it won't save the Iraqi

people...Dubya is hell bent on attacking, just for the hell of

it. It won't make him one dollar richer. But he will have

vindicated dad with American fighting mens' blood.

Personaly I say screw the world. Since when do we need thier approval for ANYTHING!!!!???? it is time we stopped listeningto popular opinion and do what is right. TAKE OUT SADDAM NOW!!!! I am sick and tired of other countries dictating our foriegn policy and telling us what to do. WE ARE THE BIG BOYS ON THE BLOCK DAMMIT. We need to be telling them what they need to do, or we stop all foriegn aid to them. We give foriegn aid in one way or another to every country in the world whether through free trade agreements or through price protection for thier products or flat out giving them money for protection from thier enemies. As for the countries saying that we cannot use our bases over their to launch an attack...stop us. We should be able to use whatever means needed to stop them, even tactical nukes...yes Mario I said use nukes. We shopuld have used tactical nukes in the mountains of Afghanistan to get Osama and we should show SoDamn Insane that we mean business....take out an uninhabited part of Iraq. Tell him Give up or die your choice.

I would`nt normally post to this kind of crap..... but please people, when this kind of rhetoric is heard coming from an American... it is ammunition for all those who would do the US harm. Big boys maybe..... but 400 million out of 6 billion is`nt such a good number... beware alienating everyone else because as big as the US is she can`t survive in splendid isolation.
Clearly Dave you would`nt know whats right if it came up and bit you on the ass.... To act unilaterally would just confirm everything Bin Laden and his cronies have been saying about America for years... I don`t believe that... even remotely, but the vitriolic poison you have espoused would give some people pause for thought....

    Stuart,
Untill you know me and know my views, and my past, DO NOT COMMENT on whether I would not know right if it came up and bit me on the ass....

    My views still stand...

    Dave,
I certainly don`t know you, your views, or your past....... but I don`t need too... you`ve advocated the annihilation of anyone who stands in the way of american interests..... now if I change the text of your original post... perhaps you`ll understand what I`m saying
"In Allah I say screw the americas. Since when do we, the righteous disciples of God need approval for ANYTHING!!!!???? it is time we stopped listening to the non-believers and do what is right. TAKE OUT BUSH NOW!!!! I am sick and tired of other weak false muslim nations dictating our foriegn policy and telling us what to do. WE ARE THE MILLIONS OF MUSLIM MARTYRS, IN ALLAH WE TRUST. We need to be telling them what they need to do, or we activate our ACU`s in them. We give religious instruction in one way or another to every country in the world whether through our mosques, through our schools, or flat out giving them money for protection from their enemies. As for the countries saying that we cannot use our bases over their to launch an attack...stop us (we are god`s instruments). We should be able to use whatever means needed to stop them, even tactical nukes...yes american infidels I said use nukes. We should have used tactical nukes in the mountains of Afghanistan to wipe out the american unbelievers and their allies, we should show Uncle Sam that we mean business....take out an uninhabited part of Nevada. Tell them to give up or die, your choice."
After reading this, please understand I am not advocating any form of attack on america...... far from it, I was born in the UK and I am grateful for the involvment of America in WW2, I served in the british military, I love freedom and despise all forms of dictatorship, and religous intolerance. But it is precisely this form of dialogue that Dave uses that is used on BOTH sides of an argument to justify the most henious of crimes. Every country has the absolute right to defend her borders, but when that 'defence' is regarded by the majority of the worlds population as an act of aggression... perhaps there is a need to listen????
    regards Stuart
P.S. Dave.... I am not trying to attack you personally, I just want you to see that your dismissal of the opinion of non-americans is foolhardy to say the least.

Stuart....that is what they are saying. They believe in total destruction of our society. It is time to pay back in kind. If for a second you think that if they had nukes they would have not used them you are wrong. They would use them in a New York second. There is a belief that says if you punch me I will cut you with a knife, if you stab me I will shoot you if you shoot me I will blow you up. If you kill one of us, we will kill 10 of you....it is time to start living that system again.

Dave, that "belief" you mention.......isn't that Hollywood script-writing?

I am quite sure I heard that recently in a movie...a mafia movie.

I know I did. "They cut one of ours, we cut ten of theirs," ad infinitum.....the whole script....you lifted.

This "belief" is not American policy, or it never has been.

You been working a long string again? Not been out of the Loop in a while?

That Houston medical center will distort ones' view of reality, that's for sure.

I never said that it was American policy, what I said is that iot is a belief. Ask just about any service man out there and they will tell you the same thing I say...if they stab you shoot them. The only way to stop someone from attacking you is to over power them. You do that by overwhelmng and immediate appliication of force...and as for my work conditions I work as many as I choose....and I sure as hell get outside the loop everyday.....

Add Canada, France, and Oman to the list......they too are against a strike against Iraq.

    Hi Dave,
I understand your frustration, it is currently being exemplified by Cheney and Bush all over the world news... "get `em before they get us".... now no-one is saying Saddam Hussein is an angel, that man deserves life less than the ebola virus.... just for what he has inflicted on his own people, never mind anyone else. But the "overwhelmng and immediate appliication of force" is not the answer... it never has been... just ask the germans who initiated WW2 under a charismatic leader and destroyed thier country. Look at the Israeli/Arab conflict... application of force again simply leads to more force, the protestant/catholic conflict in N.Ireland.... a never ending loop of violence and counter violence.... this scenario has been repeated through out history.... never with a long term successful outcome.
The maxim you mentioned which essentially translates as "an eye for a head, a tooth for a leg...." is (and I maybe wrong in the exact interpretation) straight from the Koran.... if you do harm to one muslim, then you do harm to all.... and it is one of the few circumstances where a true muslim (unlike Bin Laden and his lackey`s) is allowed to use force.
So if America starts a conflict in Iraq without categorical proof (even congress has`nt been allowed to see this "proof" let alone Americas allies) then effectively she is declaring war against Islam.... (hence the warnings from all the arab states including Eygypts Mubarach(spelling?) where he warns that no arab leader will be able to control their people if America follows this threat through)... a war against a religion.... any religion (never mind one as populous as Islam) is one no one country can hope to win.... statistics show that the expected numbers of Muslims in the Year 2000 was 1.9 billion (http://www.islamicweb.com/begin/results.htm) obviously it will be more now... they also have great wealth concentrated in a relatively few numbers.... this is idea from a terrorist perspective, and all muslims are willing to lay down their lives for Allah.
Now I believe if America attacks Iraq then Bin Laden and his scum will sit down and laugh their socks off at how America has helped them. They will be flooded with volunteers and even more money... plus contacts that may result in obtaining nuclear material. All because of a policy of "get `em, before they get you"... At this stage without proof, the best thing that can be achieved is to set the CIA after Bin Laden gloves off.... which the prez has already done... it may take time but he`s the one you want now... unlike Hussein, Bin Laden has brains and money.
    regards Stuart.
