Today is "D"-Day

  1. ........D as in deployment. Right now, my daughter and son-in-law are on an Army plane somewhere over the Atlantic, headed for the desert sands of Iraq. While my family and I will miss them desperately over the next fifteen months, I want to thank everyone who has been thinking of and praying for us, because it has helped immeasurably in our acceptance of this change in our lives. I'm scared for them, and I still don't agree with this war, but I have been able to make peace with what is, and that's something I could never have done by myself.

    I am truly blessed to know you all, and wish I could meet each of you in person to thank you and give you big bear hugs! You have made a difference in my life, and for that I will always be grateful.

    Have a great day!:1luvu::typing:kiss

    It has been hard enough when dear nephew has headed over each time. I can't even imagine if it would be my child. I think I would be feeling line this . . . . . .. I don't envy you one bit.

    P.S. Perhaps the rivival of this old thread will take your mind off things.

    You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Your dd & sil, for a safe return, and the rest of you, for peace and sanity in the meantime.

    You've done well, asking for prayer and support. I think that knowing you would need help, and asking for it, is a good source of your strength. It's when we think we can do it ourselves, we are weak, not strong ... God bless you hon!

    OMG.

    I knew the time was coming.. I knew it was right upon them and you. I even thought about you again as I laid down to sleep last noc, Marla. Thought about those kids and when the day was that they were to deploy.

    My heart wants to say so much more, but my thoughts just won't translate into words what I'm feeling inside.

    My heart aches with you, Marla. And it sighs with you, and it cries with you.
    Know that your beloved children will remain in my heart and my prayers until they have returned safely home once again. As will YOU remain in my prayers.

    Please allow the tears to flow freely as needed, for you do KNOW they do not equal weakness. I cannot imagine the pain and emptiness you must be feeling right now. Or that of ALL our mothers with their babies fighting, not playing, in the "sandbox". God bless them one and all.

    Here's to your precious dd and your dear sil ... and to ALL our brave troops, our fine young men and women fighting overseas :

    May they ALL return home safely to the waiting arms of those who love them !
