Time to check in

  1. Hi All,

Time for everyone to check in and update. Let's see, I lost money in Atlantic City again, I am swearing off casinos for at least a year. I interviewed for a weekend job today, not much else new just enjoying the jacuzzi. How about you?

Life is good. Hubby and I are about to head out for our weekly hootenanny at the dance studio. Work is mellow as the students are largely gone for the summer. And I get to go home to PA for vacation to see my little niece and the rest of the family in a little over two weeks.

I graduate in 10 days, on June 8th, but don't actually finish until the 10th. We have NCLEX review classes. On the 16th, I start my new job in OB. It starts with a 2 week classroom, 2 week med-surg orientation and then off to OB for more individualized training. I just can't wait. I think I am just excited to start paying off all of my credit bills that I accrued over the past 4 years.

I've just finished my first month at a new job -- old job not quite a pit, but just wasn't the same anymore (after 21 yr!!). Getting good feedback from docs and co-workers, which feels good! No call, no weekends, no holidays. I'm still jazzed about NO CALL!!! Kids fine, looking forward to summer w/o school. DH fine. Thx for asking.

I am still in pain from my back and still trying to get my disability. One day is just like another. Unable to do anything except for staying mostly in bed, sitting up only for meals and walking.

Started new job. Is going to be very challenging. Girls are out of school. The 3 y.o. has poison ivy. The baby has an ear infection. The hubby is, as always, wonderful. My brother is (finally) getting married - so we get to go to the mtns for the w/e and spend a romantic w/e at a cabin with the girls. YEA!!!!!!! LOL. Other than that - just other typical summer starting.

Hmm....I've been actively trying to get pregnant in the last few months. No luck so far. Found out I have hypothyroidism so now I'm on Synthroid for the rest of my life. My father had a prostatectomy for prostate CA. Urologist told us the other day that the cancer is worse than he originally though. We'll know more when my dad goes in for his 2 week post-op visit next Friday. Other than that, nothing much else going on with me.

Well, let's see...Wormed goats this morning, getting ready for Vacation Bible School, work, sleep, work some more. Oh, and my parents bought a new Chevy Suburban last saturday, it was delivered on tuesday and hasn't moved since...My folks are worried about "messing it up" so have been still driving the old one which we are keeping as a ranch vehicle. I think that mostly they are just waiting till they can get a "Deer guard" put on before they go too far in it. My father is still battling Parkinson's. He is doing pretty good all in all. Younger brother and his wife and two kids visited last weekend. 6 month old girl was a doll and 2 1/2 yr old red-headed boy was...well he was a 2 1/2 yr old red-headed boy...need I say more???? HA!!!

Dad had an angio to place stents in a known blocked artery and they found collateral circulation had rerouted around the blocked area to restore 90% of the blocked arteries circulation! I'm happy about that.

My sister just got out of a pysch unit. She's bipolar apparently and had twice attempted suicide last month. Hope she's o.k.

Dear spouse is working hard on his masters.

I took the med-surg certification exam with little prep and probably failed, but may have passed. It's one of those times, I'm so unsure I wouldn't be surprised either way.
