    Good morning!!

It's soooo cold here. I've been playing in the Arcade most of the night. But I have done some work also, laundry and dishes. Still need to finish cards, shopping, and wrapping. But this is so much more fun. :wink2:

Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

ugh! we're supposed to get 6" here today in indiana. guess i don't have much time to turn my car around and head south. i've been trying to get ahold of my friend in texas whose husband is leaving (or has already left) for iraq. she won't answer so i'm really worried about her. she gets really emotional at these times. she'd call if something was wrong.

anyhoo, if you didn't read yesterday's post everything ended up being ok. never had so many people look at my breasts before. i should be in a "film". dr. said that i had 2 spots. first one was a fibroid something--nothing to worry about. the second she said didn't fit that or cyst criteria. the u/s tech had walked out of the room when she found the second spot. when doc came back in i could tell by the way they were looking at each other that things weren't good. she ended up doing a biopsy and it was a cyst after all. whew! now i have to go have my spot on my liver checked out next. one day at a time.

don't have anything planned today. i fell asleep at 11:30p which is really, really strange for me and now i'm up. i'll probably be up for awhile. my birthday is rapidly approaching. i had to check my driver's license to see how old i'm going to be. 26 on the 23rd. i have accomplished nothing. where have the years gone?

hope everyone has a splendid day. be extra careful on that snow and ice! (hawaii does not apply:wink2: )

Good Morning All! I hope that as you all read this each one of you is feeling better than you did yesterday. Siri - where are you darling, you have been a rock for many of us, let us be that for you right now. I may be only 3 days post op, but I can always listen!

Flags are out in our town as I have had my bowels open! Hurrah! Sad that little things like this feature so heavily in the postop period huh?

Really pleased to hear that you have arrived safely in the US Kay - hope you get settled for Christmas.

As usual, to all that have been and all those who are yet to arrive - hope you have a good day.

Here's some heartwarming porridge for those of you in the cold today

Fonenurse, you are just the girl I'm looking for! I'm a very curious type and I have some questions for you. What's the difference between the UK, England and Great Britain? Does Ireland and Scotland have different governments than you? What is Wales, for example, considered? Is it a state, county, etc? I think that's all of my questions for now. Thank you!!

    Good morning!

I had a miserable day at work yesterday. Just too busy and I was tired. So today's going to be a good day. The charge nurse is off today. Myself and they other charge capable nurse were playfully fussing over who was going to do charge today. It wasn't resolved, so we'll see. I'll go with the flow.

They're thinking of lowering the RN ratio and raising the tech ratio by 2 or 3 patients. I'd love that.

Julie, what part of Indiana do you live in? I live in southeastern, halfway btw Indy and Cincy. I feel really sorry for you if you live north. Lake affect snow and all that.

Have a good day at clinicals!

OK Bethin - here goes. Lots of folk get this confused. There are several countries - England, Scotland, Ireland (North and South - two different counries) and Wales. There is a parliament in London which governs all 4 countries (but not Southern Ireland). Scotland has its own legislature - the scottish parliament. Wales has its own too. Confused? Well basically everyone wanted their independence from England, but still retain seats in the English parliament too - so they get represented twice - but the En glish don't.

UK and Great Britain are different things. The best definition that might help is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Britain

Confused? We all are. I live in England, part of GB and the UK... lol

Thank you so much! I glanced at the site briefly and it looks very informative. I bookmarked so I'll read more later.

    Thanks again!
