  1. Thought I'd start the GM thread before my head hits the pillow. I don't have any plans for today. Need to wrap some presents. I might start packing. Maybe one of you could do it as a birthday present???? My birthday isn't until the 23rd but we'll consider it an early present.

Birthdays are depressing. I have to work on mine and trust me NO ONE but my mom remembers it. Everyone is too busy with Christmas. The only reason my mom remembers it is because I mark it on the fridge.

Next year, I think I'm going to take a cruise - alone.

I hate weekend option but my boss will not let me out of it. But right now I need it because of going to school full time. I did have a job interview at a major hospital in float pool for 2 12's a week. I figured I could come home and get full time pay for 2 12's so why work in the city? The pay is more but it wouldn't come close to what I'm making now. So, I'll wait for a weekend option job to open up in Indianapolis but I don't have high hopes - they're rare.

I hope everyone ignores my depressing attitude and has a wonderful day!

I've had a hard time finding my holiday spirit, too, so don't feel bad

I should be in bed now, so I'll say goodnight!

don't feel so bad about your birthday, bethin. i know exactly how it feels! mine's tomorrow (friday 22nd) and as a child i more often than not received one gift/card which covered both my birthday and christmas! mostly from extended family members though, my own immediate family acknowledged my birthday separately from christmas. and since i got married on the 20th december, there's three significant events in one week to celebrate!

so i don't forget and miss it on the day ...................
happy birthday for the 23rd! :smiley_aa :flowersfo

my thursday is near it's end. it's been another hot hot hot day here today. as predicted, we did receive some heavy rain, for a short period. am hoping there's more to come. we badly need it!
we won't be needing to put our turkey's in an oven to cook here in oz. just place them outside in the sun and they'll be fried in no time! :chuckle
wishing all who follow a safe and happy thursday!
    catch you later..............

    happy birthday gracie!

people used to give me one gift: half birthday half christmas. the thing is, if they spent $30 on christmas and $30 on birthday, i'd still only get a $30 dollar present. it's rude. two seperate things!

Here's some more pics of my nieces that I took Monday. I learned that you can't get 2 two year olds to sit still for a good photo. Kennedy on left, Emma on right.

Here they're butting heads like deer fighting over the snowglobe.

thanks hon, wish i was 21 again!
i agree with you on the separate gifts. if our birthday's were at other times of the year, we'd have received acknowledgement aside from and separate from christmas! i always thought it a tad mean that people lumbered the birthday in with christmas. besides that being mean, it was lazy! especially to a child. i don't care so much nowadays, too old to care 'bout those things, but i'd never do that to a child.
can't believe i'm 56 tomorrow! crikey! :spin: :stone
but ......... i'm glad and grateful to still be here!

    Happy Birthday you December babies.

Well, it was a can of gas afterall and I made it to the car rental place and did some shopping to boot. My dd drove down in our pickup - we went out to eat, bought a couple of pork roasts for Christmas dinner and hightailed it out of town.

Cold here - 28 degrees so far. The dog's water bucket was frozen.

Happy Thursday - I'm trying to upload some photos for an email Christmas greeting . . . man, it is hard. I'm doing it on Yahoo . . . maybe I should try another service.

Grace - hot sounds good right now. . . .

happy birthday early to gracie and bethin! i know what you mean about december birthdays. i celebrated mine a little over a week ago. december birthdays always seem to get lost among all the christmas preparations. over the years, i had my share of birthday presents wrapped in christmas paper. guess i shouldn't complain too much, for i did at least receive presents. but boy how i envied my friends growing up who had birthdays in the middle of the summer.

I didn't see you there either!!! I guess I really do need new glasses!!!
    Good Morning--or evening---to you too!!
    Pork roasts----sounds yummy!!!
When did you say dinner was??????????
Seriously, we're making roast leg of lamb. This year our guests all like lamb--when we have someone who doesn't, we usually make a pork roast too. However, this year will be just lamb.

Mary Ann, did you find your tablecloth?

Mary Ann - we love leg of lamb. My mil makes the best roast - rosemary and garlic . . yummm. But we decided to do a pork roast this year. Not sure why.

Well, yahoo won't let me make a slideshow or decorate like Christmas . . . . photobucket is too hard to understand this late at night.

I'm headed to bed - night everyone and hi to all who come after!
