I just tried posting this a minute ago, so if it's a double-up, I apologize. It doesn't LOOK like it's posted, but there you go.
I had posted to the poll about call-waiting, and it made me think again about this decade... What decade are we in? Welcome to the two thousands? Time to join the zeros?
I remember old-timers talking about 1907 as "aught seven" but I don't think I've heard anything about the decades of 1900-1920. We had the 20's, 30's, etc. We've actually survived the 90's!!
Anyway, I don't like the zero decade or the 2000 decade. Maybe the new millenium? But that seems so two-years-ago, doesn't it? I pretty much think of it as the apres-nineties. I hope somebody else can come up with a better name, because I get funny looks when I say apres nineties.
2001 was cool, wasn't it? But what did you call it? Was it Two thousand, one or Two thousand AND one, like the space odyssy?
"Two thousand 'n' one, the space odyssy... laaaa - la, la-la!!! Boom Boom Boom Boom" I LOVE those tympani!!!
PS - that was my first use of one of the "canned" smilies here, I believe? I don't generally care to use something like that created by somebody else, but that kissie smiley is just too good to resist. I'm not too old to change.....

Denine, your cool to bring this up. Years are just numbers, not definitions. You know all the stories, and facts, about how far some societies have advanced in the last 50-100 years. In my opinion, spliting and then fusing protons and neutrons was our Pandora's box of the century. Now we are onto totally unraveling and mapping every chromosome.
For a new movie, I'd like to see a director take on a remake of "Logan's Run" but that is too chilling.
Or, like Shindler's List, a director should take on what happened in Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Again, way too chilling.
I only hope robotics don't come on too quick. I want to keep my nursing career going strong for awhile, before the automaton's take over the wards.

Oh Lordy, Mario! Let's hope greed never forces out compassion to that degree!
Dennie--I love that kissy smiley too! :kiss
And its a real kiss on the cheek too, not one of those fake air kisses. Don't you just hate those?
