They're Playing Our Song

  1. Remember when you first fell in love with your SO? Did you have a special song that you felt fit your relationship? When my hubby and I were dating in 1969, "Our Song" was Hooked on a Feeling by B. J. Thomas. He always said that that song described exactly how he felt when he was around me. He used to sing Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman to me all the time, too (still does, by the way). To this day, whenever I hear either of these songs, I feel like a teenager again. So what about everybody else. Do you and your SO have a special song? What is it, and what does it mean to you?

Hubby and I were just dating and we were out somewhere. We were drinking this incredible wine and this song came on. I don't know if it was the wine or what. We thought it was the most beautiful song we had ever heard. We still cry whenever we listen to it. It's in Italian and we can't understand a word, but.....It's beautiful.

Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman singing "Con Te Partrio" Which means "Time to Say Good-bye"

    Here it is:

What a wonderful thread...I'll probably be crying in no time if I read any more, lol...

Yours by Blues Traveler, it's a great ballad...He wanted me to listen to a song one night, said I fit the song when we met...

Put the CD on in my basement & ended up dancing to it (and me crying of course, lol) :blushkiss Isn't it strange how certain memories are so vivid. We'd been dating for about 9 months then...and I knew I loved him

My parents song was "I just called to say I love you" by Stevie Wonder...I was little then & I'd do the eye-roll thing whenever they'd dance to it in the kitchen or something "weird" like that :chuckle Now those are some of my favorite memories (lyrics, couldn't find a playable link)

Hmmm. The song "I Shot the Sheriff" by Eric Clapton (originally Bob Marley) comes to mind when I think of my Ex.
Oh! and "You're an idiot and your Breath Stanks" by Hank Williams...okay, maybe not, but it should be..

After a month of husband and I went out to a local bar... we use to hang out there alot with our friends.... Some Kind Of Wonderful by Grand Funk Railroad came on.... he stood up on the bar and just started singing it to me .... top his lungs loud... everybody was watching...and laughing... I was beet red! But I Knew that is was it.... I was hopelessly hooked!

Since then whenever it come on... it reminds me of that night! When we were on the way to the hospital to deliver my daughter it came on the radio... and he sang to me all the way to the hospital!

an OLD OLD song by foreigner....."Waiting for a Girl Like You" I think. I know the words, but not the name of the song. It is actually before our time but it was playing on a radio and Scott sang it to me when we were dating. So it sorta stuck. Now he has an old Foreigner CD and sometimes sings it to me still....15 years after our initial engagement!

Clapton's "Journeyman" is our "special song" set...
We love all of 'em, but I have a special feeling for "running on faith" because it was so true of us back then.

When we get discouraged, or life's been beating us up again, all he has to do is pop in that tape, jack up the sound, put his hand on my thigh, and wink.....

We don't really have an "our song" but we got married on Christmas day and both got a little drunk at the party so maybe "Silent night" would be a good one.
