thermostat wars

  1. I am dripping sweat here and walked over to check thermostat. It is set at 72!! I like it around 66 degrees. The thermostat wars between me and hubby have started again.

Do not fear for you are not the only one who has a thermostat war. My husband and I do as well. Only, I am the one who likes it warm. My husbands answer- to open the window. It could be
-15 outside and he would want to open the window. This drives me crazy especially at night because the window is on my side of the bed. I usually just give up and turn down the heat but pack on the clothes. Sweats, socks, sweatshirt and sometimes I sleep under 3 blankets. I end up stripping off the clothes layer by layer through the nignt. He just lays there and smirks because he knows yet another battle has been won.

Sounds like a "set point" thing to me. One thing I will try to know about before i get married is thermo-genesis rate, BMR and diet. If my wifey buggesd out on temps, heh, therd be no war

On Maslow's scale, Comfort comes way before Love and Belonging, que no?

At my last job, my 3 coworkers all had intermittent hot flashes and they would take turns turning the thermostat up and down and fighting over it...

Lucky for me, Ias long as the temp's between 60 and 90, I'm OK!

I am certain this was a contributing factor to my divorce.

I HATE to be in a house where I feel like I'm an oven. It is stifling.
    Keep the temp around 66.

Sounds like our house. My dtr likes it at 80 and I finally had to threaten death for anyone who touched it..........

    OFF WITH THEIR HEADS

66 I just can't handle, but I usually have to during the day to keep costs down. At night my roommate and I indulge and crank it up to 68.

70-71 degrees is my comfort zone... hubby likes it 67-68...brrrrr too cold for me that way!

I'm always freezing at work-I have to bring a sweatshirt or jacket yr round, now someone will at least give me a heads up before the crank up the AC...but it's weird because anywhere else I'm always the hot one? I think I just work with freaks. 68 is fine for me.

I prefer 70-72 if I'm not doing much. But if I'm moving around alot I can tolerate down to about 66-68.

I feel like a roasting turkey in this apartment!
freakin superintendents do not understand that it does not need to be 10000 degrees to be comfortable
I swear they must be growing some pot or something!
