Going to do nothing again today. Watched the most awful film last night I think we should start a thread for worst film nomination. The film last night was CatWoman.

I have two nominations for most awful films

    Good morning, everyone.

Tweety, have a great day at work.

Kay, I don't watch a lot of movies because so many turn out to be awful and I hate to spend the money on them.

Well, I'm off to work this morning. Have a great day everyone.

    Hi everyone!

Tweety, thanks for the nice breakfast, yummy! Hope you have a good day at work.

Kay, I haven't seen that movie. I'm trying to think of some bad movies I've seen, but I'm not coming up with anything ...... I think I've blocked them out :chuckle

Kat, I hope your day at work goes well!

Well I had that job interview on a peds unit last Thurs. and haven't heard anything back yet (I know it's still early in the week). But today I got a call from another hospital, the NICU manager wants to interview me, so we set up an interview for Thurs. I wasn't expecting to get a call from him, but I'm happy .... NICU is really what I want. So much to think about. Which doesn't really help my insomnia *yawn*

Good morning all! I'm sitting in the library, waiting for my soc class to start! Tried studying some for A&P, but got bored with the cellular respiration stuff, Kreb's cycle, glycolysis, electron transport chain... cellular metabolism is not the most interesting stuff! But if I can get through this chapter then it's off to more interesting things... tissues and the integument!! At least we'll be starting on the body systems!

Been working like a madwoman, and going to class every morning, so I haven't been around much! Hope you all are doing well!

Tweety, sounds like you're eating a much more healthful breakfast than I had... one piece of lemon cake and a large cup of coffee... but I'm going out to lunch with my aunt after classes, so maybe I'll eat something a little more nutritious!

By the way, I am quitting smoking! I wore a patch all last night at work, and didn't have a single cigarette during my shift... that's unheard of for me! I've thrown away all the cigarettes I had, and have a full tank of gas so I won't have to stop by the gas station and be tempted for at least a week or two. Please keep me in your thoughts as I struggle with this. I'm so afraid I'm going to turn into an awful witch when I get stressed and busy at work, and I don't want to snap at my patients or my coworkers. Things are going well so far, but I'm only 14 hours into this. I'm determined though that this time I will succeed in quitting. I need to do this not only for my own health, but to be able to be a better nurse... it's impossible to tell a patient they need to quit smoking, when you know that in 10 minutes you're headed out to the butt hutt yourself. Not to mention that I hate coming in and smelling of smoke, only to receive a new patient who's short of breath. I feel soooo bad. And I just up and decided that I'm not going to feel bad anymore... I'm just going to quit.

So, that's kind of what's going on with me lately... hopefully I can check in a little more often this week... not working quite as much as I did last week! Later gaters!

    Good Morning, Everybody!!!

It's been a while for me, but I actually have a free morning, and I'm popping my fat head into the room to say howdy! I've missed you all! I have been playing catch-up with some of the postings, so I think I'm up to speed on what's going on with most of you. It's wonderful to see so many new names here! I hope to continue to be around here, and to get to know the newbies and revisit the oldies (and it's up to you to determine which is which!).

Those of you who do know me know that I've recently started nursing school. I'm having a ball! Admittedly, I'm only two weeks into the program (only a 154 more to go!!!), but I'm truly enjoying it. I've met some nice people, a couple not-so-nice people, but I'm making friends and getting over my initial case of nerves. Yesterday, I was elected class treasurer, but I think that was because no one else wanted the job. I hope to be here more often once I know what my schedule will allow. We haven't started skills lab yet, nor have we begun clinicals, so some of this free time will be taken up with that.

Anyway, that's what's happening with me. I hope all of you are well and happy.

    Tweety - enjoy your day!

Kay - I saw Eyes Wide Shut, but not the other ones you mentioned. You are so correct!

Kat - Good morning, and enjoy your day!

Rain - Much good luck to you. I hope you get the position you want.

Jessy - Good to see you, too! You know I can commisserate about the schoolwork. I should get to mine!

Angie - You're working so hard. Good luck to you in your classes; I know how that is!

Janelle - I am very happy about your decision. I know from experience how difficult it is, but I also know from experience that it is doable. I don't have any advice but to tell you that I did it one hour at a time. Then one day at a time. It worked for me, and I hope you find it successful. It's certainly worth it!

To all yet to come... Have a great day! We'll talk later.

Hi everybody! I'm sorry, I don't much have a chance to get into this thread as often as I'd like because I'm just so gosh darned busy! However, I have my quiz for A&P I done this morning and I had a few extra minutes, so I thought I'd use it here.

Janelle - good luck with the smoking and good for you! My hubby is a long-time smoker and I don't think he'll ever kick the habbit - I am proud of you!!!

Today my little boy turns 3 - wow! Seems like he was just born yesterday!

Anyway, everybody have a glorious, happy, warm and fuzzy day!

    Good Morning Everyone!!

Hope your day is good. Still no emoticons for me this morning. They work only a small percentage of the time. I think I will hit the "Contact Us" button today.

Tweety, thank you for starting the GM thread. Here is what you ordered for everyone!!

....I thought someone might like a quiche today, too. Hope ya don't mind, Tweety.

Hello, cyberkat. Have a great day at work. Try not to work too hard.

Hi, Rain.......great that you can get the job in NICU. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Mornin', Jess.....Hope you get all your homework done in record time.

Hi, Angie. I know you will do a great job on your report.

Hello, Janelle. I will keep you in my prayers about the smoking. I know you can do it. And, I know it is hard. I speak from experience.

Hi, Don.......CONGRATS on being voted class officer!! I think you will really enjoy school.

Hi, Sarah. Happy BD to your little man!!

Morning, suebird. So, what's up for you today????? Sleep!! (hee hee).

Hey, Kay....what cha say? (Always wanted to do that!) . I saw Cat Woman and kinda like it.........but, does not take much to entertain me. I HATED " 'O Brother Where Art Thou". I like the music, but, George Clooney, YUCK.

Thanks for breakfast Tweety but I ate some salmon before coming here. Trying to be good after a couple of weeks of not being good. :-)

Worst movie - that would have to be "Sideways" . . . omg, such a depressing movie about two completely self-centered losers. I rented it one day while my son was at preschool and I had a mountain of laundry to fold. I had a sick feeling in my stomach for the rest of the day.

Spent the day yesterday finally getting the ornamental wire for our new fence. Visited my Dad too. He recently had his second bypass (1st was 8 years ago). He told me that he was reading in bed with his book propped on his tummy and the book kept popping up with the beat of his heart. Told his doc about it and they did tests and he has a 7cm aneurysm. He will have surgery next week. In the meantime - he is driving and walking and watering his garden.

Took my 20 year old out to dinner as we passed through the town he lives in - ended up at Applebys due to long lines almost everywhere else - amazing at 7:15 p.m. on a Tuesday.

Bought 4 year old a Spiderman costume. He is running around shooting me with webs this morning.

    Fun fun fun . . . :-)
