The Sopranos

  1. Okay, I know I'm a late bloomer with this series....

My hubby and I rented seasons 1-2 on DVD and watched them....I LOVE THAT FREAKIN' SHOW!!! I think Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) is the cutest little mobster.....even though he like bashes guys' heads in on a regular basis.... I can't stand the wife, and I DESPISE the elder 'momma soprano.' She needs to be PUT OUT OF HER MISERY....

    Anyone else a Soprano freak??

Shay - I saw them at BlockBuster the other day, and thought I wasn't reading something right. There is really an entire season on 1 dvd? That's cool! It must not be a weekly show? I don't really know anything about it other than everone keeps telling me it's so good. I don't have HBO, but if I could get caught up on the show, that would be a good reason to get it!

    I love Edie Falco BTW!

Perhaps I'll make it a BlockBuster weekend?

My daughter's boyfriend tapes each season amd then I get to see it after his Dad views it. I LOVE THAT SHOW and James Gandolfini sure does have some weird appeal! Never thought I'd say that about some bald, beer bellied, middle aged guy who kills people on TV! Be warned--this show is more addicting than Survivor, allnurses.com, trading spaces put together!!!

Unfortunately, there are only 4 episodes on a dvd, so you've gotta rent 3-4 dvd's to cover one season....

OR...do what we did tonight, buy the complete season on DVD @ Costco!!! Yeah, buddy!!

I'm tellin' ya, Heather, rent the first set of episodes for season one, and you'll just fall in love w/James Gandolfini...

Hardknox, I know you'll understand what I mean when I say THE DUCKS made me fall in love w/him!!!

I know, Shay...it was the ducks that did it for me, too. And just when you think he's a good guy he beats up his girlfiend or kills someone in cold blood without turning a hair. The second and third seasons get more and more violent. I guess the writers thought Tony was getting too big a fan following for a Capo!

Shay, we don't have HBO but hubby's been downloading the seasons off the newsgroups to VCD, and we watch them. He loves that show!!

I actually like Carmella - as you watch more episodes you'll see how truly a woman she is. I hate Ralphie, and Christopher is kind of gross and a flock-up at times.

My whole thing w/Carmella is that she sits there and weeps and whines and all that about Tony and his 'job,' but ya know...I got the same response for her that I do for every other woman that expects her husband to be a different man than the man she married.........HELLO, GET OVER IT. I mean, she knew he was mob when she married him, she did it anyway. And what did she think??? A mobster would be FAITHFUL??!!?? HAH!

Anyhoo, I can't wait to see seasons 2 and 3. Love that Tony. Even if he is 'just' a Capo.

I LOVE the Sopranos, I got season 2 as a b-day gift and watched it all in 1 week...whoa, the things that almost came out of my mouth after hearing the F-word continously for days...:chuckle

I like Carmella too...she's really fits the Catholic/mobster wife, kind of naive about life, and overlooks just about everything she does know.

    Heck yeah, I'm addicted.
