The Power of Intention

  1. By Dr. Wayne Deyer....has anyone else been following this? What a wise man!
The PBS lecture based on his newest book is called "The Power of Intention".

Spirituality seems to be a hot topic on this site (and it should be)....if you haven't seen this guy I highly recommend you do so.

    Several things he talks about:

We are spiritual beings having a human experience, we are all intended to be here and we are all a piece of the divinity that created use.

When you change the way you look at things - the things you look at change.

One must surround one's self with that which make you feel good or happy for this is a longing to be closer to God or our souce. Surrounding yourself with the conditions you want to practice is being one with the source. The source or God is in a constant state of abundance and harmony, we are all part of that. You must think from the end!

Everything has energy: surround yourself with positive energy (music, diet, people) - look at the energy in your life. Reconnect with the spiritual enery from your souce. The source will fullfill your belief: " As man thinketh so is he" (a quote from the Bible).

This is a very wise man! Comments?

He doesn't talk much of Jesus Christ, and as a lot of the talk here is Christian, you probably aren't going to get many comments.

I've seen bits and pieces of it and a lot of it makes sense. Does make me want to explore his teachings more.

Not really just Christain, but all beliefs theories who believe in a greater power...some call this power God, other's something else......see?

I think you enjoy what he has to say.

    Always liked, Dr. Dyer.

Parts of the Intention program (towards the end) I thought was a little weak.

    He's an excellent speaker.

(Also didn't think his daughter added anything special to the presentation.)

I bought a book just this year called "10 Secrets to Happiness and Inner Peace" or something like that. I'll look into this book as well.

I was merely commenting that for Christians the way is Jesus Christ, and while I feel Christians would get something out of his lectures, to most Christians it isn't that complicated, you turn your life and will over and that's that. It's all in the Bible.

I enjoy exploring spirituality like Marianne Williamson, Yoga, etc. I'm currently reading The Idiot's Guide To Bhuddism.

I think the statement you made "When you change the way you look at things - the things you look at change. " is a very powerful statement.

What you've posted is a lot of how I feel. I don't go around spouting my spiritual beliefs, but they do fall along those lines. Esp: "The source or God is in a constant state of abundance and harmony, we are all part of that." That's how I think of the higher power, not in Christian terms of Jesus or the trinity. I think we are all part of God; collectively we are light and that light comprises the higher power some call God. This energy flows through us and we are all here to learn certain lessons.
