the past, the present or the future, whats your choice?

  1. okay so I'm sitting here, feeling sickity sick, on allnurses, in my jammies *yeah I know hardcore party girl that I am, but I'm sick wahhhhhhhhh*
and I have the radio on, and it got me thinking...
if you had your call, would you want to travel to the future and see what ppl are up to in say 2525 , would you rather travel back to a certain era and stay there, you know peace love and understanding in the 70's? or the prehistoric times if you're so inclined, or would you like to freezeframe things right now??

as for me, although right now is pretty cool, and the future would be neat to see, I have to say that I was born in the wrong era!!! I was meant to live in the 60's , the time of pure innocent love and sweet love songs and motown and the beatles and going to the highschool dance with your highschool sweetheart and going to the drive in movies and sharing a "soda" ahhhhh okay maybe I've watched too many episodes of happy days or something but I just think things were a little sweeter than, and the music totally reflects that... instead of hearing about bumping in the so and so and gettin "dirrrrrrrty" there was talk of "here I am baby , signed sealed delivered I'm yours" and "for every kiss you give me,I'll give you three" etc etc
maybe I'm just all nostalgic ,nostalgic for a time when I wasnt even a twinkle in my parents eyes ,but still, what would your choice be?

I'm cool with right now. I wouldn't give a minute of what I have right now for a glimpse of what lies ahead. Too high a price for me.

The future will come, I'll be enjoying now while I wait here for it.

If I had to choose, I would go back in a simpler place....

Wendy, what a neat question. I bet the 50's and 60' were a lot of fun, I don't remember the 60's at all.

My life is excellent right now and I guess I don't want to know what the future holds unless it would be winning a lottery, that would be cool !

As a long-time Trekkie and sci-fi fan, I'd definitely have to say future. I wanna visit another planet and travel faster than light, dammit!

I would go back in time to a kinder, unhurried place. But, my family would have to go with me.

P.S. Sorry you do not feel well Wendy

I like where I am, right here and now.

The 60's were such a time of upheaval. I remember the Kennedys, MLK Jr, race riots, and going to anti-war and women's rights demonstrations. I remember being passed leaflets on "The Clitoral Orgasm vs the Vaginal Orgasm," reading Gloria Steinem and Helen Gurley Brown and "The Women's Room."

There were muscle cars and street racing, drunk drivers and live bands in the bars.

And sexual revolution. I remember sitting in the park where we'd all go hang out on the weekend, and some guy I'd been checking out came over and asked, "Do you wanna ball?" and when I said no, he shrugged and walked away. Way less cute to me after that happened.

I remember hitch-hiking to work, and meeting an incredible number of reallyreally strange people.

I remember winning a ticket to Shea Stadium where I got to see the Beatles.

but still, i like it right here

That's a tough question...either the present or future. I'm content with the past and have no desire to go back, although it was great. I love the present because every day is something different and I'm changing constantly, too. The future intrigues me because I'll be a RN (well, I hope!)...

I'm with Stargazer on this one--definitely the future. I'm just way too curious to see what happens to us all. I'd want to go far into the future, maybe the year 4,000. We'll probably have killed ourselves by then, ha. So I'll be hangin' out with the wildlife...

I am positive tomorrow will be the best day of my life. Today was pretty darn good but tomorrow will be even better. The 50s 60s and 70s were a long time ago. Life was very hard as I remember it. I like now better and like I said, "tomorrow will be the best".

I'll stay right here. I don't want to go back and I'm sure not in a hurry to see the future. I live for the here and now. Like Heather says...The future will come...

The '60s weren't all they were cracked up to be....rioting, college kids getting beaten up by the cops for protesting against the Vietnam War, psychedelic drugs ruining lives....not to mention there was no cable TV, DVD players, personal computers & so on. I'm with night owl on this one.......wouldn't go back, and the future will be here soon enough.

I'd like to go see the dinosaurs for an afternoon. But after that, here is JUST FINE.
