The Medal debate

  1. Videotape Contradicts John Kerry's Own Statements Over Vietnam Medals
    http://abcnews.go.com/sections/Polit..._040425-1.html

I can't believe ABC is covering this story, they actually want to get to the bottom of it. I guess Kerry said he threw his medals away to wake up the country but then he told others (news organizations) that he still has them. Out of curiosity I'll watch the program.

Just wondering what others think. He has a right to do whatever he wants with his medals but Kerry seems to be telling two different stories.

Can someone move this thread to Current Events, thanks. it would probably be more appropriate there.

Kerry is always telling two different storys. He tells you whatever he thinks you want to hear at the time.

He can (could) do whatever he wants with them. I just wish he would decide on the 1 story he wants to tell about it and stick to it.

And the other guy tells lies... and sticks to them.

At least he is consistant. His beliefs are what they are whether you like them or not. He doesn't care. Kerry just says whatever he thinks people want to hear to get elected. Is that any better? Kerry's beliefs are whatever he thinks you want them to be.

I just heard tonight that Kerry has 4 different stories as to what he did with his medals. Why not one story? If Kerry threw his medals at the white house, fine, but..then he said he threw someone elses, then he said he only threw the ribbons, not the medals.. and then he said he has his medals at home. So what's the truth I wonder.

WHO CARES? I cannot even believe this is a "debate" issue. He earned them, he can do whatever he wants with them and I don't care. There are much, much more important things going on that we should concern ourselves with, IMHO.

Isn't it ironic that Bushie's past is his past and none of anybody's business, but what Kerry did or didn't do with his medals of honor from Vietnam is a hot debate topic.

Sounds like business as usual in American politics. Doesn't it? Bush/kerry, Kerry/Bush. ugh November hurry up and get here.

Too bad, neither side has an affinity for the truth. I am tired of it and I don't know who I'll vote for or if it will make a difference. I have been woken up 3 times in the past week (after working 12 hour nights) by phone calls urging me to vote for that low-life Arlen Specter. Today is the PA primary. YIPEE!!!!

It's only an issue because the liberally biased press has chosen to make it one.... Wait a minute! Liberal bias should mean they are nicer to Kerry! LOL

Seriously, I could care less. I find it funny that people are always complaining about Bush's past being brought up. I just don't care one way or another what he did in the 70s. I am a little more concerned with things like jobs, national security, the environment, etc.

It's probably also a good sign for Kerry people. To criticize Bush they can bring up 2 million jobs lost or a failed road map to peace or a no-end in sight occupation in Iraq or a big old deficit or weakenning environmental controls.... if the Bush camp has to go to 1971 it's probably a good sign.

The medal thing is another big old yawn to me. I am not devaluing those who served and won medals or what those medals mean. I am just so thoroughly sick of all the crap we are being fed day after day by both sides. Stick to the issues, please gentlemen.

I could also care less what Kerry did with his medals BUT I do care that he has 4 different stories, why not just one story? I'm curious why a man would have 4 different stories about such a minor issue as medals. I'm just alarmed that the multiple story telling could be a problem in a candidate who could be elected President.

Mr. Kerry spent months bashing the current administration and not letting us get to know him, Kerry now says that the American people don't really know who he is, gee I wonder why. Probably because he didn't focus on the issues then, now suddenly his team wants to focus on the issues and not Kerry's credibility. I think we are getting to know Mr. Kerry a little better.

Is Mr. Kerry going to change his story about Healthcare, jobs and lowering the deficit, makes one wonder.
