The Good Girl

  1. I just watched this movie today. Wanted to see what all the fuss about Jennifer Aniston was.

Not quite sure what I thought of it. At first it was kind of a "WTF"-er. But I've been thinking about it, and what it might have meant. I'd like to discuss it if anyone else has seen it.

I saw it, loved JA's performance, thought the boy was hot, but for the life of me I can't remember how it ended. this is a problem of mine--I watch movies and then quickly forget about them, unless it's one that had a profound impact on me.

Oh yeah, I remember. I thought the ending was so depressing. I guess she ended up being the Good Girl after all. She should have just grabbed that bull by the horns and run with it...But maybe she realized he was too young and idealistic and reality wouldn't live up to their dreams? He was also pretty psycho.

And let's not forget he was wanted for stealing all that money....

I'll say here that I'm gonna talk about details of it, so don't read on if you don't want it ruined.....

I initially had problems with why she stayed with her hubby at the end. But then I remembered the conversation they had where he said "sometimes don't you just need to escape?" And I'm thinking she was able to forgive him for his *obvious* faults because they were his "escape" so to speak. Just as he obviously forgave her for her "escapes."

But I'm still just hung up on the kid. I mean, it wasn't even his.

How were you gonna *go* see it when it's not at the movies anymore?

And I specifically stated that I was giving details.

Hey, I live in the boonies. We just got 'Footloose' last week...

And, you should know better than to take anything (ok, 90%) I say seriously. Doesn't interest me anyway. But I am taking Em to the Thornberries movie this weekend.

We love the Thornberries in this house,must-see tv!
Especially my Dh,although he calls it the "Travelling Wilberries"--
a tragic flashback to his teen years, I suspect!
