    NO, seriously.

Congrats Sox fans (at least it wasn't the Yanks that beat us - but then, we'd of swept them. . .)

I'm very happy for the White Sox and their fans. Not only did they win for the first time in 88 years, they swept the whole series! Very impressive.

But as a Cubs fan, I'm so bummed.

My fiancee is giving the Cubs three more years, because then it'll be a century since we've won. He's been a fan all his life - his first home as a baby was an apartment on Waveland Avenue - and to see him so disappointed is hard. I even bought a Cubs garter to wear for our wedding as a surpirse for him, and now I'm thinking of not using it. It's just so depressing being a Cubs fan. I love them, I love Wrigley, I love the fans...but rooting for the underdog year after year really takes a lot out of you.

Heck, we even waited to have our wedding in November, "just in case" the Cubs made it to the World Series this year. A fat lot of good that did us.

But yeah, I'm really happy for the Sox and their fans. Very cool.

Well needless to say, I'm a football fan myself. lol

When I am a baseball fan, I'm usually wishing for the Rangers, but as a Texan, I had to cheer for the Astros on this one.

Congrats to the Sox, it's been a long haul, and they won it deservingly. (Except that play caught in the stands. Not knowing baseball rules that much, I think if it's in the stands it should be a homerun!)

I literally cried standing in my patient's room (don't worry she didn't notice). I come from generations of Sox fans and I can't even put in to words how I feel right now thinking of entire lifespans in my family that have passed without seeing this. This stuff runs deep in Chicago. Sox fans have been made to feel like second class citizens in our own city for far too long. The Cubs own this city (including the premier newspaper, radio, and tv station).
I do have near and dear friends and a couple blacksheep family members who are die hard Cub fans. A day ago I never would have said this but I truly hope someday they get a chance to experience what I am feeling right now.
