The best state in the USA?

  1. Which state is the best in the USA? I think Wyoming is the best because it is absolutely beautiful! I love the beautiful white winters and the no traffic hassles in the wonderful towns. I think of Wyoming's summers where I don't have to put on an air conditioner. I just open the window. The beautiful mountains!!! Which is your favorite state and why?

    No question about it ::

    New York!

    As to why?

    Nothing like New York. Mountains to flatlands. Rome to Rochester. And ofcourse, the thing that most reminds me of home - NYC. Ahhhh... NYC. What would I do without NYC!

    I agree with Roy.
    New York: the rolling mountains of upstate, the craziness of NYC, and the absolute beauty of Long Island: farms, vineyards, white sandy beaches and excellent fishing.
    (Can you tell which I part I grew up in?!)

    If you are talking about beauty and not people, then California is by far the best. It has everything you would want, mountains, deserts, metro areas and rural. I know people have a negative opinion of California but when you look past all it's faults it has by far more things to offer the outdoors type and the indoor intellectual. You can go from skiing at Big Bear to the beaches in Orange county in a few hours, off-roading at Glamis east of San Diego to Tiajuana south of the border. In Northen California you can go from South Lake Tahoe to San Francisco in a few hours to Yosemite in the same time. What state provides these attractions in a short driving distance? Dispite the amount of traffic or the amount of people or the financial burdens the state has, California has a lot to offer anyone. Mike

    Put me down for California too. We have it all (and there are some nice people here too).

    Interesting - NY and CA. Both at the ocean borders of the US.

    Anywhere with the mountains. Colorado, West Virgina. I live in OK and don't often get to see the mountains!

    Tough question, so many beautiful states! But I'm partial to Arizona! I can enjoy the cool desert nights here in the valley, drive a few hours to the beach, drive a few hours to the snow and go skiing up in the mountains. Yeah it's hot as hell in the summer, but that's why I spend most of my summer in the pool, at the lake or up in the mountains to cool off! Lots to offer, I love it here. I didn't realize how great AZ is until I started going to school in TX. I miss the mountains terribly when I'm in TX!!

    Hey Oregon is the best....moutains, deserts, flatlands, rural areas, large towns.....I love Eastern Oregon. I have been to other areas of the country and nothing calls me back to anywhere except Oregon....I love it.....
