the beagle story, continued

  1. For those of you who have been following the saga of my rescued beagle , I thought you might like an update.
First off, she's still here, with me. I am officially 'fostering' her for a rescue organization, but I sincerely doubt she'll be adopted anytime soon. She's simply too old (8-10 years is my guess).
Here's hoping nobody ever wants her and she can stay right where she is.

I'm going to try to attach a pic.

I have a 7 year old bealge...and her 2 year old son, who is half Beagle, half Sneaky Neighbor!

They are such great family dogs and think we are all just one big happy pack!

Enjoy your 'babysitting' and I hope it becomes permanent!

    Hugs

OH what a cutie-patootie-buzzy-wuzzy-boo! So sweet Rebecca!

So, what are you calling her? We went through an weird phase when we found our dog, but before we decided to keep him, not knowing what to call him. "Hey, you, it's time to go outside!"

Awww thanks everyone... she is freaking adorable.
    Her name is Mercedes.
And I had found a home for her, but they decided they didn't want her. I think its because she was very skittish and wasn't housetrained... so I'm working on training her, and she's becoming less skittish by the minute.

And...... this morning she finally found her voice. She hadn't said a peep since she's been here, but when she asked to go out this morning (at 4:30 am for pete's sake), she stood in the backyard and howled.
So cute. I laughed out loud, and then I remembered I had neighbors and shushed her.

Awwwwwww....MsPurp....Mercedes is gorgeous...an elegant beagle specimen if I ever saw one...!!!!! LOL at her finding her voice...she must feel welcome at your home if she feels comfortable enough to whoof and howl...this is such a sweet story...you are such a nice nice person to have saved her from the road...
Yesterday I saw a turtle in the road and yeah, and you can probably guess what I did...yep...pulled over and helped it cross the road...it was 99 degrees here and I know it had to have been hot in that shell while crossing the road...!!!!!
Good luck finding a home or maybe not, for Mercedes...

And........ I'm crate training her because she's never been housetrained. Today was the first full day I've been away at work.
She didn't go in her crate at all! I'm so proud!
    :spin:

Sweet of you to save the turtle. You know what that made me think of? The trailer for the movie 'Master of Disguise'...
"I'm not TURTLE enough to be in the TURTLE club"? Dana Carvey looks soooo much like a turtle! I have to see it!
