The BEST Apple pie...
Crunchy Carmel Apple Pie
1 - pastry crust
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 cups apples (Golden Delicious & Fuji), peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup caramel topping
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup butter
1.Stir sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt. Add apple slices, toss to coat.
2.Transfer apple mixture to pie shell
3.Stir brown sugar, oats, flour. Cut in butter until course crumbs form. Sprinkle over apples.
4.Put on cookie sheet, cover edges of pie with foil.
5.Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake additional 25-30 minutes.Remove from oven.
6.Sprinkle with pecans and drizzle with caramel.
