Thank You Ladies and Gentlemen

  1. Over the past few days, I've recieved many a note or post regarding my recent troubles.

Specifically with the loss of my friend K.M.

I want to personally thank each and every one of you.

It means a lot to me.

KM was one of my best buds. We grew up together. Through thick and thin - we were, like they say, closer than a split second. A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail. A best friend is the one sitting beside you saying, "Damn that was fun."

When I moved outta the country, it became difficult to keep in touch with him. But we did our best and somehow managed it. I missed my friend but atleast I knew that he was there somewhere, doing the job he was MOST proud of.

That made me happy. My dear friend was warm, (relatively) safe and was doing what he loved best - serving his country.

The last I saw him was when he came down for my 'brothers' funeral last year. He looked sharp and dapper - as expected. We didn't have to say much to each other, we just looked at each other and our thoughts flowed freely. We each knew how the other felt. His presence at that solemn ceremony certainly made a difference.

My friend was my 'brother' in all but name and blood relation.

But today, he is gone. Taken away from me.

But not in vain. For he lived upto his oath. And knowing him, I'm sure he met his fate with courage, a steadfast heart and a smile on his lips.

    Once again, I thank y'all.

    - Roy

Roy - I am so very sorry! As a vet - I always cringe when I see the KIA. What a loss for everyone. And, btw - from one patriotric vet: thanks for your service.

Roy, you just described your soulmate. You were blessed for having one. I had one too, but not as long as you. My soulmate walked down the fiery road to the healing of my soul with me, and I will always refer to her as such; what I saw in her, she saw in me.

Roy...these flowers are for you as a memory of seeds that are born, seeds that rise up to bless those in admiration of their beauty, and seeds that shed life for new life to begin. May your dear friend's memory always be like a seed in your own life causing you to grow in "inward beauty", planting your own inward beauty as seeds that touch others lives........allowing the seed to go on and never distinguish its' life....life in a seed full of life. :icon_hug:
