Sorry, I guess I am reeeeally bored.
I was thinking randomly on the random thread the other day and wondered what causes the "honk" noise when someone blows their nose. I googled it and this is what it said on Yahoo answers:
"Foghorn nose-blowers have narrow passages of flesh somewhere in their noses, followed by larger areas. When they blow, the narrow passages vibrate, like the reed on an oboe. The remainder of the nose acts as a resonator, and as a result - honk!
Factors that could make this worse include how hard they blow, nose size, and degree of nasal blockage."
Anyone here a honker? Or a closet honker?
I don't honk when I blow my nose but I like the other kind of honkers.
Remember these guys?

I don't honk, but my sneezes have been known to throw the Earth a bit off its axis. My father was a champion honker. Given the size of his nose, there was a whole lot of resonance going on!!!
BTW, I can burp the alphabet, and I'm sure many of you can too!

Isn't there some sort of Universal Law that says "The Loudness of the Sneeze is in direct Proportion to the Size of the Proboscis"?
Not that I have anything against People with Big Noses. Some of my Best Friends have Hulkering Snouts. Their Noses are soooo big (How big are they?) that they store air like Camels store water!
No- really- Big Noses run in my Family! (We all suffer from Chronic Sinusitis.)
But to get back to the Question at Hand: Do I *HONK!* when I blow my Nose? Why, yes I do. I also cry when I watch "It's a Wonderful Life". Do you want to make fun of me for that?! Huh? Do ya, noise franquois?
That's it. You've really ticked me off! I'm outta here!
