I brush my teeth with topical hydrogen peroxide every night, not the one for teeth the 3% one for cuts, its denses and only about $2 a tube (to $10 one for teeth - same strength).

I was going to get them lasered before moving to germany but was not able to have it done soon enough. I have heard it will make them whiter than anything.

Knew a woman who lasered her legs and arm pits

Mom & Sis are hygenist, so the entire family has bleached their teeth. Works great, none of us had any problems, BUT I have heard people say it caused theirs to be more sensitive. It can also irritate your gums while you're bleaching (it did mine), but that resolves if you back off the bleaching for a few days. Don't know anything about the laser. If you're interested in bleaching, you may want to check out ebay. They've got kits there that are alot cheaper than paying a dentist; probably work just as well. One other thing..if your teeth are badly stained, don't expect a miracle. Generally three shades lighter is the best you can hope for. If you smoke, like me, or drink coffee, it'll require frequent bleaching.
