Teaching Sunday School tomorrow.. HELP!!!

  1. Both regular teachers will be out of town, so they asked for my help. :chuckle I do not regularly teach children's church, but they were so desperate and no one else was available, so I agreed to help them. I want to do the best job I can. The regular teachers left me a video tape on Easter and some coloring materials. Any suggestions for "jazzing" this up and making this 1-1.5 hr a great time for the kids? Know of any good websites with downloadable Sunday School materials? Thank you for any ideas you can offer me :kiss

    [font=Trebuchet MS]Here are a few sweet ideas
    [font=Trebuchet MS]get a bag of mini jelly beans preferably in designer colors-since you mention coloring materials I am assuming lower grade students. give 15 min session on what is Easter q+a every answer earns a jelly bean most at end of time slot gets big chockolate egg. You should relate the sweatness of the candy to the sweetness of having Jesus in our life.
    [font=Trebuchet MS]Web search Free+cards + holiday will get you mega sites. Download a handfull
    [font=Trebuchet MS]print on black and white if you are graphics xprt make it cartoon style. Let them color their own cards for mom and dad with a prize to the best. Of course there will be no best, they are all 1st place winners because its too hard to choose.
    [font=Trebuchet MS]this should get you thru at least 1/2 to 3/4 hr. Lots of luck

    You can buy "resurrection eggs" at wal-mart and christian book stores - each egg tells part of the Easter story.

    Or you can make your own - here is a link

    (hope that helps)

    Wow... kinda short notice, or I could have found all my old supplies and come up with some goodies for you.. although my kids were early teens.

    Used to be a youth minister, and absolutely LOVED my agegroup... they were soooooooooo much fun to teach... giggles, eyerolling, and all ! :chuckle

    You'll do just fine.... Jesus was a great Teacher... emulate Him, and keep things simple... He did. And still the messages were profound.

    Happy Easter. :kiss
