Take No Prisoners-Iraqi war film clips you won't see on American CNN-

  1. U.S. Marines shoot wounded Iraqi, cheer about it, and say it feels "awesome" to kill. This war is turning some of our young men into people who enjoy killing.

    Turned my stomach.......

war is pure hell. I would be sickened to see my son or daughter talk like the young man interviewed at the end of the clip. It really makes me sick.

I finally controlled the sobbing and blew my nose.

War is horrible terror. EXHAUST ALL OTHER OPTIONS BEFORE STARTING A WAR!

I started crying when we started bombing. I was told to rejoice because Iraq would soon be free. Sorry, there is NO JOY in this war for me.

That could have been my son. I thank God he served between gulf wars. Is that selfish of me?

You are not selfish, spacenurse. I agree with you. Although some here would tell us that being against war makes us unAmerican. I'd rather have think us unAmerican than inhuman. Some of our soldiers will be turned into monsters by this experience. Remember the Tom Cruise character in Apocolypse Now? the young man in this video is not too far from that. When the war is over, these damaged young men and women will come home and be among us. That is a disconcerting thought as well.

I can't even watch these things. I don't know which disturbs me more, the fact that any soldier who wears an American uniform could commit an atrocity or the fact that some people will just dismiss rape or murder as harmless hazing....

btw: wasn't it Martin Sheen in Apocalypse now and Tom Cruise in Born on the Fourth of July?

Tom Cruise had a small part in Apocalypse Now, in which he was shown getting a big thrill out of killing the enemy.

I'll have to rerent it, I haven't seen it since I was in college (like every english class, we read the heart of darkness and watched the movie), thanks

Seen it before. At the risk of being labeled a war mongering, slobbering, insensitive slob, that video was produced strictly to hit you in the gut. But, if you watch it, and not very closely, I might add, you quickly realize that you cannot make any judgements about the incident based on that one, heavily slanted bit of tape.

There are too many unknowns about that incident. We don't know what came before or after the incident. More to the point, the tape was edited so heavily and in such a ham handed fashion, we can't even determine what really happened during the part of the tape we watch. I can think of a hundred circumstances that might make that bit of tape seem less inhuman. But, in the rush to judge, we accept whatever the editor of the tape wants us to believe. Like a magician, with a little slight of hand and misdirection, poof! We've murdered an Iraqi in cold blood.

    Kevin,

On The Free Speach Channel, I have seen quite a few clips form the European CNN. What we are shown here is heavily sanitized.

I feel that some will defend this war no matter what.

It isn't a matter of defending the war. It's a matter of not being gullible enough to slavishly believe an obviously heavily edited bit of "news."

Here is a BBC interview with an American Marine who killed civilians in Iraq. It is not edited.

Click on the link and click where it says BBC.

OK, so, bad things happened in Iraq. I'm not condoning that. However, none of what that Marine had to say had anything to do with the propaganda tape you started this thread with.

Funny, that's my opinion as well.
