Sweet, totally unexpected thing

  1. A dear friend of mine recently got what she considers her dream job after a particularly rough year of losses. She is an artist and her new work involves that, as well as her computer skills. She sent me two adorable little pairs of "nursey" sock/bootie things with needles, steths, etc. on them that were designed by her and produced through her new employer. I love going to the mailbox and getting an unexpected package .

Anyone else have a little fun/happy story to share, or about how someone has recently tickled you?

My last shift my supervisor complimented me.

Almost the same thing as Ratched--an unexpected package. I helped out another poster here at Allnurses and arrived home a few weeks later to find a package from her on my doorstep. She'd sent me as a gift something I had expressed interest in on another thread here.

It would've been a sweet gesture regardless, but it was especially fun because it was so unexpected. I mean, I get all excited seeing a box from Amazon, or Barnes & Noble, and I know that's coming!

Your kids are probably so well behaved it would be a treat. Keep them Rusty, you grew 'em.

Rusty, are you offering to send someone your kids, or are you offering impregnation services?

It's important to be clear about these things.

exactly...i have fertile ovaries in an altered household...however, i would not want to be fertilized by anyone who has interest in doing the fertilization on a helicoptor while being chased by a machete-wielding stalker....

Rusty . . . . I have an 18 year old Senior in High School. His 13 year old sister would like to trade him away.

An unexpected thing . . .. well, my husband took me out to dinner on Saturday to Mt. Shasta. He could tell I was stressed out regarding the 18 year old. We had a great dinner at a little Italian place . .really, really good food. Took the 20 month old . . . .he was well behaved.

I had a social worker tell me the other day "I love nurses! You all are such special people, and God has a very special place for you!"
