Surreal moment

  1. The other night. It is 2 in the morning and I cannot sleep.

I walk out the back door and cross the cool grass on this warm evening. I make my way to the pond and sit on a bench. There is a full moon and the clouds seem to speed past it's surface.

And then the moon breaks free from the clouds. The night is black but for the moment the pond is bathed in silvery moonlight and droplets from the water fall each take on a light of their own.

Everything has gone quiet and the night is so still. I wonder if I am dreaming, nothing in life but this moment has ever felt this real. The type of reality that only a dream can bring when all your emotions, and senses have melted into one. But I am awake and have experience the most serene, surreal perfect moment that I have ever lived in my life. Wanted to share it with you. Beth

Funny how the night can do that to you. Thanks for sharing.

I was jogging in the wee hours of the morning on the beach. Then the clouds moved and I saw a billiant full moon over the Gulf Of Mexico getting ready to set and allow the sun it's due. The glistening over the water of the moonshine, and the dark clouds and the night was very surreal.

Rapheal and 3rdShift...I could see both thoes moments so clearly in my mind!!!! How nice to be able to experience that! I love it when it feels like the night, and everything around you, has come to a complete stop. I've had a similar experiences myself, I use to love to walk out on the beach when I lived in San Diego, just the smells and everything...ah, I miss that!

Let's see, surreal moments for me in Vegas.....ugh, all the time!

Lovely... I, too, could "see it" as you described it... sense it, feel it.

Those moments truly are the absolute best. Just you and your surroundings.. lost in a magic moment... wishing that nothing will break the spell...

I'm never up early enough to watch the sunrise. When I get the chance I'll describe it

They were both so well written I feel as if I was there. I have had a few of those moments in your life===like when labor is over and you hold your first child in your arms, feel their warmth and their sweet breath on your breast as they suckle. How you focus on that feeling and forget that you are sweaty and tired, and you have just been through a terrible ordeal- you are at peace and the only thing that matters is that moment, because all that you have hoped for and prayed for and imagined doing is now reality--more beautiful than you ever imagined.
