support

  1. Hi all,
I have never posted a thread like this, and I am relatively new to the board, but I really do feel like as many prayers as can be sent will help.

My son is currently in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne. I am very proud of him, but as you can imagine....worried....Please keep him and all the troups out there in your prayers tonight, send a package or mail. Thanks:kiss

((((((((HUGS)))))))) and prayers flowing their way, and your way also. My friends boyfriend just got back from Afghanistan a few months ago, and will be going back soon. He is fine, but did get shaken up a little. I am sure your son will be fine. He's a very brave man, and I am so glad to have so many brave men and women over there keeping us safe here!

I know the felling I was an army brat or twenty years. luckily the worst my dad had to do was UN in Cyprus and tours in Ireland (though I think Ireland wasn't that nice and he had a few close shaves their as it was in the earlier times of the troubles) but he's never had anything worse that some teeth knocked out in a riot.
Have faith he will come back safe:kiss
So greatfull that my dad has left the forces now.

My little boy is only 6 ... but I can understand the worry! (maybe on just a smaller scale ) How much longer is he going to be there? (or shall I ask ... how many more gray hairs are you going to obtain?? :chuckle)

    Ldymedc,
As a Navy wife for 11 yrs. now, my thoughts are with your son and his fellow troops. May each and every one of them return home safely to their loved ones. The candle in my window will be burning bright for him tonight.

    Hugs,
    Christine

Thank you everyone, it is good to know that the troops over there are always in our thoughts, and thank you for your support to us....the families...as well.

When I wrote the post, I forgot, that I do not have the general address for the troops, only my son's, so I am working on getting the address in case anyone wants to send a package or some mail....I hope to have it by tomorrow.

I spoke to my son today (yeah!!! he got through). He is doing well, and told me that they like home-made cookies the best hint...hint....(still a kid at heart...lol)...so mom is in the process of making about 10 dozen cookies to get off to them tomorrow.

I don't think that they actually NEED cookies, though...lol. It is my understanding that they need things like toiletries...etc, that are not available at there post store. I know he has said that they can't get disposable cameras for some reason??? so I have sent him several of those, once again, though, I wouldn't call that a real NEED. I will post a list with the address when I get it if anyone is interested...

thank you so much for the support.....it is so good to know you guys are out there!!!!

Yes, please post a general address for those interested in sending needed items and even words of encouragement. Next time you talk to your son, tell him, "Hoo Ah". Thoughts and prayers sent their way.
