Ugh!! Some advice to y'all that I obviously didn't take as seriously as I should have.
~Tuesday, I had a patient to visit in a local LTC community. There were big signs all over about the Noro Virus. Asked if my patient had any symptoms, was told no, and completed my assessment, treatment and med orders.
By Thursday afternoon, I had such abdominal cramps I couldn't stand it. Vomiting up absolutely gallons, along with massive diarrhea. As well as a headache, chills and generalized miserableness.
Let me tell you - diarrhea and vomiting at the same time is not only not a pretty sight, but it is impossible to do both in the same bowl, at the same time.
By Friday I was so miserable there was no way I could work, and finally remembered my mom recommending coke syrup for n/v, so my daughter went out and bought me Pepsi and Coke. Ah.........the only thing I've been able to keep down.
Saturday was better, but my diet still consist of Pepsi and Coke. Now that it is Sunday, it is starting to get better and think I may actually attempt to eat today.....later anyway.
After this experience, I may start getting like Howard Hughes - so paranoid I won't shake anyone's hand or touch anything without gloves on. Not a fun way to spend a long weekend, let me tell ya.
Oh, BTW, Good Sunday Morning to y'all. Now let's all go and wash our hands!
