Sunday, October 8 GOOD MORNING!

  1. Well, welcome to all and Happy Sunday! (In 40 minutes on the West Coast that is).

Watched movies tonight with my dd - "Broken Flowers" with Bill Murray was one and oh what a letdown :uhoh21: . Both my daughter and I looked at each other at the end and said "you have got to be kidding!". I hate movies like that.

Off to bed so I can actually go to church in the a.m. and won't sleep in. My 5 year old is with Daddy and so won't wake me up at 6:30 a.m.

    Hello to all who follow.

    GOOD MORNING, PEEPS

    HAPPY SUNDAY TO ALL!!!

I'm at work as usual!! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!
We're full which is good--can't get any more!!
I'm not Charge--so that's a good thing! We also have 2 CNA's which is another good thing!! Lots of Complete care pt's, tho. Also LOTS of PRESSURE SORES!! Most all of these pt's are from nursing homes. The reason we are getting all of these types of patient's is that they all need Isolation due to junk growing in t hose wounds & we have 14 PVT Rooms!! This is not really a great thing for a hem/onc floor!! Oh well. I do have 1 chemo pt tonite & she was actually even assigned to me!!

I don't really have much planned for Sunday after getting off--we do need to dust, vacuum & straighten out--have guests coming on Tuesday. Not much needs to really be done, since the place is still looking good from the party we had a week ago. We have been good little Peeps & have kept thing pretty tidy for a change.

I'll have to catch up on the threads from the last 2 days.

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Sunday!!

Steph--sorry about the movie. Enjoy Church in the Morning!!

    Good Morning!

Here's your song of the day!

I'm off to bed soon. I've been up trying to make/create an appropriate comemorative/tribute video about the school shootings. Not been easy...

Spoke to a dear friend of mine last night - infact, for well over 2 hours (international). We hadn't spoken to each other in over 2 years and I missed her very much. We spoke of many things and I'm happy to know that she is still one of my closest friends.

I could write you a letter,
    But what would it say?
    Could it make things better?
    Would it make everything okay?

I could write you a song,
Full of love hope and grace.
Would you tell me what went wrong?
Could you say it to my face?

I could make a telephone call,
    And listen as you cried
But I would not let you fall,
And if you did, we'd both know I tried.

I could make the world go away
But would that be what you like?
You would miss the golden sunrays
    You would miss the moonlight.

I could stop all this pain
Bring it all to an end
The tears would fall like rain
On the shoulder of a dear friend.
Maybe I should send that one to her...
    Man, I'm feeling homesick now.

    Off to bed I go!

    g'day all!
sunday afternoon here! been a lazy one too! just took it easy all day!
roy, that poem/song is lovely. that was nice you caught up with your friend. it's important to nurture friendships. even if it costs a small fortune in phone bills! lol
mary ann, sounds like you've got a fulll house at work! pressure sores, aren't they the bane of the older persons life??!! and the nurses too! i've seen some dreadful ones in my career. enjoy your house guests when they arrive!
steph, don't you just hate it when movies dissapoint? you sit there in anticipation and ..... ???!!!! i'll be sure not to rent that movie!
to all who pop in here later, have a happy sunday!
    cheers.............

Maryann-we're full too. Thank goodness! There's only three of us and they pulled our aide to sit. They sent us an off-service suicide attempt. The floor she should have gone to still has their aide. :angryfire:

Steph-what a letdown! Bill Murray is usually pretty good.

Roy-Thanks for the song and poem.

Grace-Happy what's left of your Sunday

Have to go home, shower and go to the funeral home. Our neighbor across the street died. His wife grew up with my mom. It's pretty strange though because neither of our families are native to the area of the city where we live now. Then I have to sleep and come back to do this all over again tonight. Phooey!

    Morning, All,
Had a great turnout for the yard sale yesterday. My sister and BIL made $250.00...and I made $20.00. I had sold most of my stuff before I moved back in February, and what little I had left to sell people weren't interested in. I'm not complaining, for this means that my sister will be able to go to the grocery store today.

Started my new temporary job on Friday...and all I have to say is that I'm glad I have two interviews for two full-time positions lined up on Wednesday. The woman who owns this company is a nervous wreck (she talks with a constant nervous tic)..and for good reason. I found out that she has had to pour her life savings back into her company after the State performed an audit and demanded back thousands of dollars in Medicaid payments, which she could not afford. In addition her only full-time psychologist has resigned after nine months on the job. Something is clearly not right here, and I hope I can find something permanent before this two-week assignment is up.

Love your poem, Roy. Very touching.

Morning all - just about to set off on my usual Sunday 300 mile commute, so will pop back here later when I have arrived. Sorry for not being around much - my dial up access is *pants* to say the least - but I will try to be back here more often.

It's been a gorgeous day here so far, with my kids cooking a lovely roast beef dinner with redcurrant gravy and celeriac, followed by a summer fruits dessert which was left over from when we went fruit picking earlier in the year - mmm lovely.

    Hope everyone is well.

See you all later (dial-up permitting)

hey, fone!!!! sooooo good to see you again.

i know, dial-up is a stink-a-roo. every once in a while, like today, my high speed decides to take a vacation and i have to go back to dial-up.

the meal sounds like a good one; of course, my stomach isn't awake!! ha ha

    be careful driving back.:wink2:
