Missed everyone yesterday. So sorry. I had to make that venison jerky. It should be done sometime tomarrow.
I watched an interesting report on MSNBC about the nursing shortage. I wish it had the floor nurse perspective. I hope is well with all.

Been up since 4am, but I went to bed at 8pm! I'm off today, I think I'll do some laundry and maybe watch some Football............

Although it's my day off, I took time too myself. Made the jerky then laid around for most of the day. I find it hard to be alive and kicking when the sun is up since I'm awake for the night shift. My family wants me to conform to the normal schedule of being up during the day and asleep at night. Sometimes I can make the transition but it usually kicks me in the butt later. I'll take a nap before the football starts. Go Vikes!

I don't really care for venison but it's a big dish when deer season rolls around. We do not hunt but we have relatives that do. I have some excellent ways to perpare it and it will be tender and taste like roast beef. PM me if you want the recipe.

Morning, all. Hope all are well. Just found out my schedule is being tweaked....
again. Still on 11-7, but instead of Sun to Thurs, it's "on 4, off 1, on 6, off 3" or something like that. It doesn't help my nose is draining like a faucet, and look like Rudolph. Guess I will need OJ.......anyone have any?

Shelly......we'll have a problem here with the football here in 2 weeks. Me....Bears. My husband.....Vikings. It's been an interesting 11 years during football. Oh, and husband was born in Cook Co. ILLINOIS! There have been some fun fights, I tell ya!

Tweety....hope all is well with you.

To all others, I think of ya often.

    Take care, all! :chuckle

I am forced to"GO VIKES" since I have lived here for 20+ years but I Love Da Bears too. Some people say I still have the Illinois accent mixed with Fargo. I'ts pretty messed up. But I kinda like the attention. We are watching the White Socks closely and are die hard CUB fans. Miss the food down there.

Shelly...did you go to school here or in MN? Just curious. Husband's folks owned a lodge on the Gunflint until the mid 70's. My MIL swore, to her dying day, that falling off the bed up there rattled his brain team-wise. :chuckle

I love the Cubbies, but am a Red Sox fan. I guess cuz of my dad. I had to call him when they won the Series last year......fully afraid he went into Cardiac Arrest as they finally won.

Jkaee....my hubby says you may have cooked the venison a bit wrong. If you want to retry it, I am sure he can get you a decent recipe.

    Peace.....

I was born and raised in Chi town. Graduated from Tinley Park High School then my father uprooted the whole family to the middle of nowhere. My father bought a resort. It was definintely a culture shock. Cable and MTV to 1 TV station and PBS. But there is good news.

A fairy tale love story..FATE..I met my husband here. We instantly fell in love. He graduated from the same high school I did in Illinois but I never knew him. His family moved here a few years before us. He only lived 3 miles from my house. We are still together after 20yrs. I think I'll keep him. We could never live in Chicago again. We do visit as much as possible and PIGOUT when we visit relatives.
I keep my ACLS up incase the CUBS finally win. My husband will definitely need some resucitation then.
I'll save him then we'll party like there is no tomarrow.

OK, we are within spitting distance.

Hope everyone else is doing well. 5 more days, and my schedule goes catawumpus. (Like it isn't already!!!) At least you all know I still think of you all, even if I can't post. :chuckle

    Thanks, all!

Good morning you early-birds! It's not even 9:00 am on Sunday, and we're on the 2nd page already... !

Short posting for me today; we're going to a rodeo! I've never been, and it's not one like you see on TV. My 7 year old niece rides in a little local one, and I've not been able to see her do that since we've been here. Today is the last one of the season, and although I'm told she's a natural, I have to see for myself. We're leaving in about 10 minutes and it's supposed to be a beautiful autumn day in the country.

Then my new-friend-from-nursing-school-Mike is having a picnic at his house; I have to get home, make a pasta salad and leave again. Fred and I have met a few people here, so this will give us a chance to meet more.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, wherever it takes you. Please be safe, and be well.

    Peace.

Did you ever ride a horse? I think I'm still bow legged from that experience. I have heard the rodeo is quite fun.
