    Hiya Mary Ann!
I'm headed off to bed soon myself. Just finished my 3-11 shift and am sitting here unwinding a little bit. The old body is tired but the mind is still :spin:
    Catch everyone later....much later!!

Wow, Mary Ann, are you another Grace??? lol! j/k!

Good morning, except it's 9:45pm Sat nite here!! I did read thru the Sat GM thread, and enjoyed following it, however late I was!

We spent the afternoon in Oceanside (which is about 1 hr 15 min from where we live), with dh's mom and his bro and bro's ds and dd. Had a nice lunch at Claim Jumper (no, I tried to be good: soup and salad [and a few french fries, OH, but they were their garlic-parmesan shoestring fries!!!! I HAD to eat a few!! ]), then visited till we left around 6.

We dropped the ds's off at 7pm at a friend's house for a party (that started at 5pm). Party was to last till 10:00. I get a call at 9pm, "Mom, the party's winding down, would you come pick us up?" Dh and I look at each other, thinking the worst: the party is going somewhere the kids don't want to go, and this is a cleverly-disguised distress call!!

So I race over to pick them up, and when they get in the car, I start the quizzing. Mind you, the "kids" present at the party are the same kids the ds's hang out with all the time, just usually at another kid's house. This is the first time they've congregated at this house. So after a few well-placed questions I confirm our suspicions: something WAS going on at the party, of which the ds's wanted no part. What was it? I asked.

Rap music. "yeah, they played techno for the first hour, then changed to Rap, and we said, 'we're outta here (but politely).'" I'm pretty sure they're telling the truth. . . (yanno, there's always that nagging thought in the back of one's brain . . ) But for now I'll believe them.

Anyhoo, it's good to be home. Got the sheets changed, the wash sorted and a load in the washer. I know, I know, such an exciting life!!

Hiya sooz! I have some of those days myself - yer back/legs say "get thee to bed!" whilst your mind says "Hmmm, House in on USA Network"

None can replace Gracie when it comes to starting GM threads waaaaaaaaay outta whack with US time zones

Hey D ~ Rap music or otherwise, I bet you are comforted by the fact that the kids DID call you about something THEY felt was an 'issue' ... I'm trying to instill the same level of confidence in my cousins too... that "no matter WHAT. You may even have murdered someone in cold blood - but I'm just a phone call away... so GIVE ME A CALL" thing...

I may not know all the answers but I want my siblings and relatives to know that no matter what, they atleast have SOMEONE they can call no matter what the issue...

Good morning! Guess I'm the first of the true Sunday Morning folks, rather than the Saturday night-but-it's-past-midnight-on-the-east-coast-so-it's-Sunday-Morning crowd. LOL

I hope everyone has a good day. I'm good to work here in a few.

Good grief - can none of you sleep stateside? Good morning all! I am spending the first part of my day doing 'mumsy' type jobs - mainly sewing. Have inserted chocolate into the childrens' advent calendars and will head off south again in about 5 hours.

DH is cooking our traditional roast beef and yorkshire pudding and I am waiting for DS to get out of the shower so that I can go in.

Hope you all have a super Sunday. Will try to catch you all later!

    See you all soon...

PS Roy - great song for the day - very atmospheric... love it!

    good morning all,

woke up early this am. body's use to getting up about 5 so at 5 i was awake. oh well. gives me some quite time.

:angryfire :angryfire yesterday we went to get all of our x-mas stuff and start to hang up lights outside and put up things in the house. on monday dh and fil found a lot of the boxes in the carport (which had a 8 ft by 6ft fence panel in front of it with only a small opening like a door way. they set them to the front of the carport.

well we go to get things out and they are gone. we lost 7ft, 4ft, (2) 2ft fiberoptic x-mas trees, one of the 4ft singing and dancing santas, 2 of the largest plastic totes u can buy at wal-mart full of brand new x-mas lights, box full of all our ornaments, there were ornaments that went back to when dh was little. every year since we have been married (1990) i have gotten and x-mas ornament with names and yr ingraved on them. then i get the kids each one also. all gone. i even had some one there for my dh that past away. i am furious!!!!!!!!!!:angryfire we had 2 boxes of lights that were used on the trees and in the house missing. my fiberoptic angel top, i am sure there is more just can't thing right now. i just thought about the angel top when writing this. forgot to tell them in the police report. i can call the officer and add it to the report. we are going to turn the report into the ins. co. and see if anything can be remibursed. if not that means no tree for x-mas. luckly we did have 1/4 of our stuff stored somewhere else or we wouldn't of had anything.

i was in such and good x-mas spirit this yr. first time in a long time and then this happens. well enough sad stuff for now. ds (3yr) was so excitied as we hung lights outside. he is really starting to get into x-mas this yr.

compassion good luck at work today, hope u can make it through safely and with a clear head. take care,

roy thanks for the morning song

maryann, suzy, fone, dianah, tweety, ddrn for me, hope everyone got a good nights sleep. for those getting up and getting ready for work, church, or whatever today may bring hope u all have a great day.

we are going to try and finish hanging up what lights we have left. i need to wash uniforms, and do some odds and ends around the house. then take it easy go back to work on mon. i have been off since tues afternoon. will be hard to go back.

well i am going to go read yesterdays thread. didn't get a chance to stop by. take care for now

angelia... what a shocker to find all your stuff gone !!! yeh.. that really, really bites. i'm so sorry, hon.

to change your avi go to "user cp" at the very left on the yellow bar at the top. it will give you all the options there..change avitar, profile, etc.

hi dd, tweets, suzy, maryann, fone, mar, suzy, and di.

i agree with roy about the kids and the party, di. comforting to know they call, regardless.

well, guess i need to make the beds and refill my mug so i can decide how i want to spend my day. i don't want to sit at the puter again all day.. gonna be waaaaaaaaaaaay too pretty out there for that!

    catch you all later !

roy.. nice song choice.. very soft and mellow. thanx.

For the record... if anyone ever wants me to get out of their house, the most surefire way to hasten my exit would be to start playing rap "music". I can see why they'd want out of there, but like you, I'd still be wondering a little bit...
