Wow, I'm only the second poster on this thread!

Gotta get to church early today...my dad is having an open house to celebrate his 70th birthday and I have to get there a few hours early to help set up. I hope that the bad weather won't keep people away, it was pretty bad last night.

    Hey Sabby!

    Morning, All,
Our local newspaper has published online this morning the identity of my son's friend who was shot and killed during a robbery attempt Thursday night. They also report that two of the three people who broke into his hotel room have been caught. He managed to shoot and kill the third suspect before he was shot. All three of the suspects lived in the same motel where he was staying and were 17 and 18 years old. His Dad said that he was in the process of preparing for an interview the following day, for a possible promotion with the same company he was working for.

He was (like many others who have suffered the same fate), at the wrong place at the wrong time.

    God bless his family.

Conrad, what a night, what an experience. I'm so sorry for all involved.
Get some rest tonight. (((((((((((( Conrad ))))))))))))))

Conrad what a horrible shift for you.
Please get good rest and try not to dwell on this for too long ok?
Talk with your peers that were there for some kind of closure. *hugs*
Thanks. I didn't get much sleep last night, mainly because my nephews slept over and the 5 year old was throwing up at 3:45am.

I talked to my mom about what happened (she's a supervisor at the same hosp), she agreed that what happened, happened incorrectly, but it was mainly a house staff problem. But I can't help but think that we're going to get the blame because we're (the nursing staff) the ones who are visible.

I had clinical this week on wed and thurs, and I saw someone die on both days (literally, on the monitor brady'ing down), those were expected and I was fine. Now yesterday at work, I mean it was expected, the man was a sick man, BUT not to die like that. It's so amazing how quickly the body can deteriorate.

I'll be fine. I have to study for my test tomorrow, the dreaded neuro test. This is my LAST test in NS, and then the final. Afterwards, a friend and I are going to party like it's 1999.

It's snowing here and it's so beautiful. I love the snow. It makes everything look much nicer. It's supposed to turn to freezing/rain/slush and then to rain, so I'm not looking forward to that. I guess I'll be in all day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful sunday.

Good morning to everyone else, or goodnight in my case. My grumpy old man wants me off the computer again, so I can't stay long. Days off tomorrow. Have to go in to town to sign papers indicating our interest in renting the new house. I so hope this goes through...

to all the Allnurses Family out there.

    No snow here, boo hoo.

Case.. wishing you and your son peace. Prayers for comfort for the family of the deceased young man. So very tragic.

Conrad..hope your is a stress free day for a change. Enjoy that snow while it's still pretty.

SabbySue.. sounds like you have your day's work planned.. the journal will be lovely and a real treasure.

Joe.. careful out there and sending your Dad lots of B'Day wishes for good health and happiness!

Siri.. hope your ACLS class is a breeze and that you get to come home early.

Dar.. what are you into today?

Today I really MUST buckle down and do my bills and checkbook. Minnie is snibbling for a walk, and I'm not quite "there" yet.. still enjoying my second cup of coffee. She'll' have to wait awhile. Not much planned for today otherwise, which is good, I enjoy my peaceful "do-nothing" weekends at home. Time to make up the beds and wash my face... BBL !

    Happy Sunday!

Off to bed. Apparently the schedule shell is out for the staff to fill in and mine has been changed. I think I have the right to know about any changes made to my schedule, don't you? :trout: Now I just have to figure out a way to diplomatically go ape so this does not continue. Things have been changed in the past, but never behing my back without my being told. :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire Duh!

    Good Morning all!

I'm still trying to thaw out from yesterday! We were at our State Championship High School Football game. It was held at a field thats almost across the street from the ocean. Needless to say it was COLD!! It didn't get above 24 degrees and the wind just made it almost unbearable. But we did WIN!! So it made it all well worth it.

Now we are gearing up for our first winter storm. It was supposed to start later this afternoon but I just noticed its snowing now..uggh.

I have to finish up my info for my group project for school. I know if I don't finish it, we WILL have school tomorrow (storm is supposed to continue until rush hour tomorrow AM). If I do finish it we won't. LOL.

Ahhh well, welcome to New England in the winter.

    Wishing all a great day.

Good morning everyone!! I slept in, guess you didn't yell loud enough.

Not much going on, going to do some stuff around the house.

Jnette, I haven't kept a checkbook in years. If I did, I'd only copy what the internet website says, so what's the point. LOL

I hope everyone has a great day.

Today's Weather: Sunny Warm. High of 80.
