Sunday 28th January, 2006

  1. good morning from "down under!" to sunday! :hatparty:

we've been up early and headed to the beach with the two dogs. it's a grey overcast morning here today, but didn't allow that to stop us going to the beach! the sea was choppy and as grey as the sky. there was a moderate wind blowing and a jacket was required. still, we embraced the morning in all it's glory and set a cracking pace along the shoreline. the dogs loved it and enjoyed a swim in the ocean as well as exploring all the seaweed which had washed up on the beach. the ocean reveals some intriguing treasures! as always, other beach walkers were warm and friendly, greeting each other as we passed by. the only wildlife visible today were the seagulls. no dolphins or pelicans anywhere in sight.
after our walk we went to one of our favourite beach front cafes' and devoured a delicious breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and coffee (dh) and tea (me). another great start to our day!
now i'm checking mail and allnurses before bathing the dogs, then we're off to visit a friend in hospital. she and her dh were in a mva on wednesday. their car is a writeoff and she's sustained a rather nasty leg injury, plus bruising and shock. her dh was badly shaken up but no injuries. thank god thay're alive and safe.
hope everyone enjoys their sunday when you reach it!
now............ i'm off to read and catch up on the other threads as well as the gm thread!
stay safe and well. hope to catch up later in the day!
    cheers................

cooooooooooooeeeeeeeee grace!! sounds like a bracing walk!! i do like to see the different moods of the ocean . . as long as i'm safe, sheltered and dry, lol! glad you, dh and the dogs enjoyed the walk (breakfast sounds great after that exertion!).

hope your friend and her dh are doing better, and prayers sent for steady recovery. what an emotional trauma, as well as physical!!

    here's today's wacky website:

www.singsingsing.com/has[color="plum"]well, that didn't bring up at all what i expected! i'm off to search for the real website, lol! --- edited by d

    "this toaster's toast

had it with that old refrigerator that won't keep the ice cream frozen, or the dvd player that keeps eating your disks? don't you wish you could do what these guys did -- take 'em out back and shoot 'em to pieces?"

(now i need to test the link . . .)

[color="sienna"]i couldn't locate any link that remotely resembled the description provided on the page . . but i did come up with two rather interesting sites:

    www.fixitnow.com

    "samurai appliance repair man ---
kicking appliance butt all over the globe!

    and

    http://www.engr.colostate.edu/~dga/high_speed_video/

super slo-mo of high-speed video clips of, say, a bb going through something . . .

grace, if i have to hear one more bleeping story about you and the beach i'm gonna

i'm just extremely jealous. i would love to wake up every morning and take a nice leisurely stroll along the beach, gather my thoughts, look at what god gave us.

no, i'm stuck in boring indiana and i'm not even going to the super bowl.

i did ask my dad for a loan of $10,000 to go. he was going to give it to me but i can't get off work. if i go, i'm sitting 50 yd line, behind colt's bench and third row up. no other way. i'm not paying 4 grand to sit in the nose bleed section.
