Just 3:45 here, but a very Happy New Year to all. Enjoying the Law & Order: CI marathon on a rainy Saturday. A friend of my son's and his Mom just dropped by and brought us a belated Christmas present. *Sigh* We had nothing for them. We've never exchanged gifts before. I try to take the gift in the spirit in which it was offered, and not be embarassed by not reciprocating, but I think this guilt thing is pretty well ingrained. Oh well, off to the market to pick up a couple last minute goodies for tonight. I should be able to stay awake till midnight, considering the nap I took today.

Grace... a most happy, healthy, and prosperous year to you too, my Friend.

Wish you and all our friends across the waters a year filled with love and laughter, and above all, good health.

Thank you Grace, for starting the year off for us.. we're a bit pokey over here, but we're getting there ! Only four more hours.........

you're most welcome jnette! happy to start the good morning thread, anytime!

well, it's now past midday here on this, the first day of the new year. and guess what?!...........
we've got rain! it's summer here in oz! oh well, we do need it, so i won't whine.

dh and i enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, accompanied by toast and washed down with piping hot tea and coffee. i decided, despite the 'no tea' rule for these 4 weeks, i'd indulge in a cup of decaffinated tea. actually, the dr said that would be ok, so i don't feel 'bad' about spoiling myself on this new day in the new year. :icon_hug:

if any of you get the chance to see on tv, the ny fireworks on the harbour in sydney, be sure to watch it. spectacular as always!
anyway folks, i'm off to take care of some paperwork! fill in the calender for the year with relevant dates, appointments etc. clear out my "in" tray etc etc. apart from that, i'm spending this new years day doing nothing much else! :wink2:
so from me here to you there and everywhere......
    happy new year and cheers!
