A quick "Good Morning" to all, before I gear up. I have to get household things accomplished before 1pm, as we're scheduled to do some jazz Christmas music at a little park in Redlands @ 2pm, then leave @ 3:30 to drive up to Oak Glen to help w/bluegrass music/Christmas music @ a friend's church dinner.
I would have done the household stuff (laundry, groceries) last night, but we drove 40 min to THE bluegrass jam of all bluegrass jams, in Claremont!! It was the SWBA (SouthWestern Bluegrass Association)'s big Christmas potluck and jam, and there were some AWESOME, AMAZING musicians there!! And we got to be in the same room with them!! Dh was up to playing w/them, too, and loved every minute of it! I played a little rhythm guitar, but then they got really technical, and while it was EXCITING to watch and hear what they did, I couldn't keep up at all. Ended up just listening, which was fine by me! Pat Cloud was there (reknowned for his jazz playing on the 5-string banjo, which is dh's specialty), -- Steve Rosenstein on fiddle (he picked up my guitar to play a riff for someone in the room, and I was so excited he played it!!), and then another banjoist, Billy (with an English accent), Dave the chromatic harmonica player, and a fabulous guitarist whose name I haven't a clue!
Mind you, this group jamming was one of FOUR in the house!! Ppl jes' pickin' and a'grinnin'!!! We left about 12:30, and some were still going . . . I'm sure the players in our group are all professional, and have recorded . . . sorry, am just basking in the afterglow here . .
Well, gotta get going, oldest has a choir program and has to be at the school to catch the bus @ 0900.
Y'all have a good day, will check in later!!
