Suicidal terrorists here?

  1. The guys at my hospital are making wagers that we will experience a suicidal attack within the next month.

I suppose anything is possible but I would certainly have better things to do w/my time and more to worry about than laying wagers on such a thing. anything is possible, but I won't obsess over the possibilities.

I agree wholeheartedly. It is more likely we will get in a car accident with some idiot on a cell phone.

Just make sure that whoever wins the wager can't win by commiting suicide.

passing thru...I feel this is a cruel way to pass the time, but I sure hope they all lose, and there is no suicide attack!

Somewhere in the USA, there will be someone who plays russian roulette, starts up a fight with a cop while armed, gets into a fight at a bar that gets out of control, makes illegal drugs and poisons a group of people, has road rage that escalates out of control, or attacks a family planning clinic and then turns the gun on himself.

Ohhh.....but then that is probably not the suicidal attack that you are wagering about.

There are people all over the world that are doing things that are suicidal and dangerous. "Terrorist" activities (if that is what you are referring to) will never kill off as many people as general stupidity does.

I agree. The book referred to in my Tagline supports this statement. Ought to read it sometime if you want to laugh ---or exclaim over just how stupid and self-destructive some people are.

Tell those guys at your hospital sitting around making stupid bets to find something more constructive and useful to do with their time...like supporting our troops or perhaps giving time to a worthy cause of their choice. Sounds like they need lives---desperately.

I don't think it's okay to discuss terrorism in jest. Terrorism is the desperate action of some people who get very pissed off. Thats why this war is so unsettling to me. A fact is a fact, and violence is violence, whether it's a suicide bomber or a stelth bomber. One violence is no different than the other, save for the magnitude. Terrorism is violence, just like dropping bombs is violence. You can't have one without the other. Ambushes and suicide attacks are totally uncool, as is all violence.
