Stupid is as stupid does

  1. A 14 year old PA boy has been charged with harrassment for meowing at his 78 year old neighbor.

Leave it to PA... Once, a cop tried to arrest a motorist for flipping off another motorist. Off course, a judge threw the charge out. If being obnoxious becomes illegal, most everyone would have been or will land in jail sooner or later!Someone needs to rearrange their priorities, I think.

Hey, maybe you're missing something. If all the cops in Pennsylvania have to do is worry about meowing teenagers and motorists flipping each other off perhaps we should all move there. Must not be any 'real' crime to worry about.

I would have already served my time for it and be out on parole.
You know you'd be a 'repeat offender'.

You'd already of served your time, been out on parole, and had it REVOKED!

There is some legitimacy to that question, but it still leaves open why cops in the United States of America, with very strong freedom of speech rights, believe that merely meowing at a neighbor constitutes harrassment. Wouldn't it be better if they confined their arrests to activities that are actually illegal?

O.K. I confess to flipping the bird in traffic.

Too bad the kids parents can't acknowledge the kids bads manners and ask him to apologize.

Have we reached a point in our society that being rude and obnoxious is o.k.?

Granted it shouldn't be a crime, but those of us on this thread that were complaining in another thread how rude society is becoming are now here saying it's acceptable and we are rude and obnoxious.

Not the least bit acceptable, just not illegal. I don't see a conflict.

I didn't mean to imply that I though it was illegal. I was actually highjacking the thread to another topic. Sorry.
