Strange Dream

  1. I had the weirdest dream last night. I was married to a doctor that I absolutely despise. But, he is nice looking. I had this wonderful life and everything.

Which made me think. Back in the day when I went to school, many of the girls in my class (myself included) used to dream about marrying a doctor, the white picket fence, etc. I looked at my life back then: 3 small children under 4, waitressing, husband was a mechanic, trying to make ends meet while going to school.

I almost went the other way, leaving my family behind for my own selfish greed. Now that my children are older, I'm getting those pangs again.

    What is wrong with me?

Middle age crazy, 7 year itch, midlife crisis or just human?

I'm betting you're just dreaming and that's all.

My best friend used to say the same thing, about finding a Dr. and she almost did!! Well, at least to have a fling with.

Not a shrink or anything, just wondering, are your kids teenagers now? That is a tough time for parents.
Alot of our time is centered around meeting everyone elses needs, our family...our work. Sometimes maybe dreaming is a way of venting our own needs.
There was definetly times when I felt I needed" moms' anonomous" just so I could remember that I still existed .............somewhere. I wish you well.

I think everyone feels like 'abandaning ship' at some time or another...don't think that's crazy at all..just human...as a parent you give up soooo much of yourself to your children and their lives/needs that you loose yourself...I know I did..just recently I have started to give ME a treat ever now and then..whether it's to get a haircut, nails done, lie in the sun for an hour...little things just for me sure do help..makes me a lot nicer person to my family as well....give it a try...doesn't have to be much, or an expensive present to yourself ....to me TIME is my best gift to me
PS-I have weird dreams too..lol..check out this site just for fun...it 'defines' the meaning of your dreams : http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/a.htm

I dream about marrying a rich man almost every night...

but I wouldn't take anything for my poor one, either

Maybe (since you despise him) it's just knowing that if you were married to him, being a doc he would have VERY little time for you (or to be underfoot) yet you would have all the bennies of the "lifestyle". Kinda do what you want, when you want, and plenty of money to do it with...

Yes, we all do dream these things at some point, and mostly when our kids become more independant, even if it's daydreaming. Just says you're human and taking inventory of your life. It's when we ACT on those dreams when things could get out of control.

Men have no idea how many hats we wear, do they? And how little of us there is left at the end of the day... and what little we have, they WANT it !

Yep.. next life gonna be that bear !
