Still Catching My Breath....

  1. Well, Ms. Kristi will have a nice bruise on her entire chest tomorrow morning....

As some of you know, I live on a dairy farm. Well some of our cows (I'd say about 12) decided they'd be the little pea brained pain in the butts that they are and sneak out of the barn.
Well.........Someone who was driving by told us we had tons of cows out, so my mother, father, uncle, and I all go outside to get them back in....I was running around in my socks trying to put my shoes on while running and trying to tie them while running.....(after 17 years of this, I've gotten pretty good at it)

Well, we get all but one cow in. She come charging my way and I try to dodge her....guess what?? She went the same direction as me and WHAM!!! Ohhhhh Shiiii...ummmm Oh sugar...that baby slammed into me like you would't believe....that big ole' stomach that's as hard as a rock....owwieee!!! I got knocked over and just kinda layed there for a while trying to breath......No broken ribs, just pain...

Man....that was soooo scary...even more scary then being chased by a crazy hurt soo bad....and I'm gonna have the biggest bruise on my entire front...I bet my boobs have been disabled to grow now....and they aren't all that big to start with..

Soo, that was my wonderful thursday night. Tomorrow I'm STILL going to Funtown and riding every ride whether it hurts or not!! Dumb cow ain't gonna ruin my day......

So, how was your Thursday night??? Hopefully pain free...??

hey kristi, i was raised the same way. always had all kinds of animals. can't tell you how many times i stood before a cow/bull waving my arms and hollering for it to go the other way. it is scary! never had one ram me though. poor you! have been kicked in the face by a horse though. i was on my shetland pony and my sister was on her big horse trying to get him to go into the arena. he got really tense going into the arena and i happened to come up behind them. wham---one hoof to the nose. knocked me out but didn't break anything. had to get my nose stitched up. i think i was around 8. have had other animal related injuries but guess that was my worst. hope you aren't too sore.

Um, yeah... that's the excuse I use Kristi

My Thursday was a pretty sullen day. Started with a funeral, ended with me thinking I could do my usual 2.5 mile walk too soon after my recent knee injury.

Kristi....I sure hope you are feeling better today. The bruising will eventually subside and disappear, but the memory of that cow and you colliding......OUCH! That will be with you for a long time to come.......a story to tell your grandkids! :chuckle :kiss Try to enjoy the weekend, and be safe!

    OOOOoo cow stories!
I used to drive a red K-5 Blazer and lived near a bunch of dairy farms.
The bull at one farm took a real dislike to my truck, and would pretty regularly jump the wire fence and stand out in the road waggling his horns at me

No sooner would I get past that obstacle than the neighbor's dog, a tame wolf (gawd he was HUGE; almost as big as Dennie's cat!!) would hear the truck and sit squarely in the middle of the road until I stopped to "chat" with him

Still, I musta been lucky; the worst thing an animal ever did to me was when my horse stood on my foot. ouch.
