    A Prayer For The Children

    We pray for the children
    who sneak popsicles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.

    And we pray for those
who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
who can't bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
    who never "counted potatoes",
who are born in places where we wouldn't be caught dead,
who never go to the circus,
who live in an X rated world.

    We pray for children
who bring us sticky kisses and fistfulls of dandelions,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money.

And we pray for those who never get desert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can't find bread to steal,
who don't have any rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser,
    whose monsters are real.

    We pray for children
who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store, and pick at their food,
    who like ghost stories,
who shove dirty clothes under the bed,
who never rinse out the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don't like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
who squirm in church and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at and whose smiles make us cry.

    And we pray for those
whose nightmares come in the daytime,
    who will eat anything,
who have never seen a dentist,
    who aren't spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move, but have no being.

    We pray for children
who want to be carried and for those who must,
who we never give up on,
and for those who don't get a second chance.
For those we smother with love and....
for those wil will grab the hand of anybody kind enough to offer it.

Dear Jesus, take my heart and hand, And grant me this, I pray: That I through Your sweet love may grow more like You day by day.

Jesus, stay with me as I go through my last year of highschool. Please help me always keep my mind on You, not those around me. Lend me a hand in getting my life in order and finding what I want to be in life. Help me focous on my school work and make good grades so I can get into a good college and find a good job.
Help me to be more and more like You, my Lord, my Savior. In Jesus' sweet name, Amen.

Lead me, Lord, in tender mercy,
    Leave me not to walk alone;
Let Your wisdom guide me ever,
For I dare not trust my own.

Though people may not love you,
    God will never leave you.

    Do thy duty, that is best;
Leave unto the Lord the rest.

A smile can conceal our pain
    And lighten our despair,
But trust in God gives inner peace
    And joy beyond compare.

    Father God,

Watch over our dear children as they prepare to return to another school year filled with a mixture of excitement and new things to learn. Surround each child with his and her own personal guardian angel to ward off any evil around them...keeping them safe in Thy care always. I pray for the teachers who will be responsible for the minds and bodies of these little ones in hopes that they will be patient with those who need a little extra attention, and compassionate on those who are "different" than themselves. May each child feel loved in a healthy way all during the school year by their teachers and principals. Surround each child, each staff member, and the school buildings that house our precious little ones with Your protective care during the hours they are learning and away from their homes. I pray for the children who find more love and acceptance at school than they find in their own homes. May Your all powerful love embrace these little ones.

I pray for the safety of every child as they come and go to and from school whether they are riding a bus, riding in their own cars with parents, or driving themselves, or walking. Especially watch over the children who are potential 'bait' for child molesters, and halt those evil acts before they even perpetrate into something ungodly. May we as a country remember our children who look to us...the adults...for guidance and protection, for their security and love, and for their very happiness in life. Let us not fail them, Father. Forgive us our imperfections, and instill in us the desire to improve as adults and as parents.

I pray that each and every parent take responsibility for more than just their own children by embracing all children within their neighborhoods, within the school systems, and those who appear to be in trouble. May we as a body of adults in this country begin to realize how very important we are in a child's world, and begin to be accountable for each one...whether that child is ours or someone elses. I pray this prayer sincerely and with earnestness of heart and spirit, In Jesus Name I ask these things, Amen! Amen! Amen! :kiss

Lord, bless our schools, our children; that working together and playing together and learning together, we may learn to serve You and to serve one another.

    Prosper with Thy Blessing, O Lord, the work of this school and grant that those who serve Thee here may set thy Holy will ever before them, striving to do that which is well-pleasing in Thy sight, and persevering in Thy service unto the end;

    Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    Amen.

Lk 10:21. At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
