sigh, mass hysteria at the grocery store tomorrow

  1. There will be the usual holiday rush. Then add to that the fact that weatherman is calling for two or three inches of snow. You get the holiday shoppers and the idiots that think they got to stock up on a year supply of food because of the weather. I would rather work a month on a med/surg floor in the middle of a flu epidemic then go to the grocery store tomorrow. But I suppose I must, couldn't get out today because I have this bad cold.

Ooh, good reminder. I have to go grocery shopping tonight after work. Gotta make sure I'm all stocked up on everything so I don't have to go again for at least a week.

You will not believe this. At 11:30 this morning, I was actually in the parking lot in front of the grocery store. I felt to ill to get out of car and go in. I know you will say that if you got that far you would get in and do what you had to do. Up until 11:30 this morning I would have said that also.

Oramar, that is how I feel! I usually have to stick my head in the freezer section to calm down. People are so rude and they are always touchingme!

I always do my shopping a couple of days before the rush.. Several of my friends wait until the day before... I don't feel sorry for them at all... Especially when they have NO excuse for not going earlier..

OMG, the visual is priceless-- Susy bent at the waist with her head in the frozen pizzas, as strangers repeatedly poke her and say, "Um, I just wanted a DiGiorno's Supreme over there--look, are you gonna be here all day?" :chuckle

(I know, you're going to try to spoil my fun by claiming you stick your head in the upright freezers! My version's funnier.)

I don't like to go when it's really crowded either.. so hard to dodge ppl with the carts.. I like to get in and get out

....and here I thought I was alone with the PANIC ATTACK in the crowded stores..PS ..I also deplore malls..enter only at off peak times..park next to the entrance nearest the store I have to go into..and quickly flee..I love the 24 hour Supermarkets..and again get in and out as fast as my little ole cart will take me..the self serve checkouts are a plus too, so I can scrutinize what price is really being charged...I'll think of SusyK from now on ..LOL

Woohoo! My mom can't handle crowds either feels like she can't breathe, so I'm always sent out from last minute runs
