Self Tanning Products

  1. Well warm weather is upon us & I never made it to the tanning bed, needless to say, I don't dare put a pair of shorts on because of my white legs. I've never used the self tanning lotions, anyone recommend a good one........one that bronzes you & doesn't turn orange.

I use Neutrogena tanning products. I esp. like the foam. I have very fair skin and I use the deep "tan". Just be sure to rub it in really, really well and try to avoid your ankles and elbows.

Kinda wondered that one myself. There was a girl in my class last year that wore the fake-and-bake kind of tan. Yeah she looked good, but she smelled like a jog of white vinegar. PEEEEEEEEEEEEYEEEEW.

(Wouldn't mind having one that's easy to put on, blends easily, looks natural, doesn't reek, and isn't going to bust the bank)

I use the banana boat spray on. It doesn't smell at all really and as long as I quit forgetting to wash it off of my hands when I am done, My secret seems to be safe.

Find a salon that does the airbrush tanning. I did it a couple of months ago, had a beautiful, streak free tan for $20 and 30 minutes of my time.

Otherwise I would recommend the neutrogena brand.

How long does the airbrush stuff last though?

    Don't forget to exfoliate first........
This will help your tan to look the most natural. Lancome and Clarins both make products that do not have a funny odor.

If you are doing your face, do not forget to do around your ears and the sides of your neck, and hairline if hair is short or worn up.
Go light on elbows, knees, and ankles.
Do not forget to wash your hands well when done.
One of the easiest products to apply is one that is tinted so that you can see where you are placing it, but more intense color will develop after several hours.

    Have a healthy tan..................

How long do any of these last? Is it really worth the money?

Clinique makes a really nice self-tanning lotion. It comes in light, medium, and dark. I, too am fair skinned and the medium is a rich golden brown. It also smells really good too. It has a bronzer in it so you see exactly where it's going and can "adjust" any dark spots early. It costs around $22.00. With just one application, it lasts two weeks. But you should re-apply every week to keep it going. It's great!
