Seen on a Starbucks Cup

  1. One day as I had finished my coffee, I started to read the cup

    The Way I see It # 230

Heaven is totally overrated. It seems boring. Clouds, listening to people play the harp. It should be somewhere you can't wait to go, like a luxury hotel. Maybe blue skies adn soft music were enough to keep peopled in line in the 17th centure, but Heaven has to step it up a bit. They're basically getting by because they only have to be better than Hell.

No wonder the world - the U.S. is like it is today. No wonder people are killing and stealing. If this reflects the modern mentality - no wonder?

I like the sayings on Starbucks cups.

I saw an insulator that said "I still miss my ex.......but my aim is improving!"

I wanted that one sooooo bad!!!

There was a story in the news about this recently - the bashing of Christianity on the cups.

I never knew there were sayings on the cups . . . I just drink the coffee, drive and talk on my cell phone.

I like the sayings. It's kinda like Tazzi's siggy line right now - she's not seriously going to beat her husband to death. I take those kind of things with a grain of salt.

That's been the mentality for years and years!

Just think...before A/C, people went to church in small 1-room churches with no A/C. Now, do you think most people would go to such a thing? NOPE!

Give us our mansion-like, hugely adorned church buildings with air conditioning....or we won't go.

So, yes, I believe that 'fits' in with society's thinking. Heaven needs electric for all the gadgets to be plugged in!

:uhoh21: NO....I don't think they should put stuff like that on the cups, and NO, I hardly ever go to Starbucks. I can make coffee at home.

Gosh I know none of us know what heaven is like. I can't even imagine. The clouds and harps were someones imagination too.
The New Orleans airport has a wonderful mural of the living musicians like Pete Fountain, Jeremy Davenport, and Chubby Checker playing while those who passed on are above the clouds jammin' too lead by Satchmo in the center.

    Just humor, not serious.

I googled it . . . and found an article but not the article I remember reading.

Here is one of the sayings on the cups that people are upset about. . . . . If you read the whole article, there was a complaint from people who thought there were too many pro-God sayings . . ..

[FONT=Palatino, Book Antiqua, Times New Roman, Georgia, Times]"Why in moments of crisis do we ask God for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure."
