  1. Happy Weekend everyone!

Grace-It's almost Sunday for you (I think).

I'm going to sneak to bed and feed ds before he completely wakes up. I'm telling you, it was the happiest day of my life when he figured out how to nurse with me lying down. Now I don't have to wake up completely and neither does he. I'm going to try and sneak out early tomorrow to the grocery store before the holiday crowd hits. Dsil is having a brunch/baby shower on Monday morning and dh's parents are having a picnic on Sunday afternoon. I'm making fruit salad for both and only want to have to go to the store once. Not much else planned today.

Dh and I need to clean the house. It looks like a tornado blew through here. Jnette? bethin? Any others who like to clean? I'll pm you my addy. Jnette, I'll bathe Mutti for you . . . . . .Phooey, no takers . . . . Guess I'm stuck. Dh is suppossed to put our a/c unit up for the downstairs. That will wipe out a lot of the humidity, even if I leave it set to the mid to high 70s. It will still feel like heaven.

I'm at work, drinking my never ending cuppa Joe!!:smilecoffeeIlovecof My CNA keeps it coming!!

Well, I was not scheduled to be Charge tonite, but I am---they floated a nurse to the surgical floor & it was her turn, so I am charge!!!YUK!!

Oh well; There is not much going on right now--we have 4 MT beds (not a good thing)!! We also have 1 pt. going home---can you believe it at 0100!!!
He's VERY anxious to leave, tho. I guess they told him he could go after he has an XRay & since they just did that, well, you know the rest!!

I had a VERY EMBARASSING thing happen to me tonite---:stone Just before coming to work, I was eating some dried mango. Well, I have upper dentures & they broke--right in half!!!! My DH tried to super glue them, but it didn't work-----now you guessed it---I am sitting here without any upper teeth!!! And a HOLIDAY weekend---no less!! I have no idea when I'll be able to get them repaired or new ones or what ever!!!:uhoh21:

Morning all! Well, I'm still awake. After having been mandated last night, and napping during the day yesterday, my sleep pattern is way messed up. Just came home from a friend's home. We had a nice long talk...he was so stressed out but I got him to open up a little and even laugh. No easy task.
Good news is that I am getting drowsy so it will probably be sleep land before too long--good thing as this is my weekend on....3-11. I feel for you, Mary, with your dental emergency. Maybe there will be someplace you can get them taken care of tomorrow......???

Hola from California - getting ready for work and I've had one cup of coffee so far.

    I work tomorrow too.

Good grief - dental emergency of Memorial Day Weekend. Surely there is an er dentist somewhere MaryAnn.

To the rest of you sleepless people . . . . . go to bed! I wish I could - first thing I looked at was my phone to see if there was a little blinking red light with a message to stay home for low census. Nope.

Gotta get in the shower . . . have a great Saturday to everyone!

whew what a week! glad it's my weekend off - three whole days to kick back - once i have bought some food... it's a bank holiday weekend here, so most folks are in holiday mood - and the children are all off school for a week.

there's not much of my induction left at work now and i will be flying solo in my telephone triage role again really soon - exciting and scary all at the same time...

siri - i'm not drinking java right now - makes me too hyper - any chance of a cup of tea? lol

nurseybaby'05 - sorry, have enough trouble doing my own housework - but i will cook you some meals and bring them round if you like! we always do that for people with new babies here...

nursemary9 - so sorry about your teeth - can't get a dentist here in the uk for love nor money - hope the situation is different in the usa!

to all of you who have to work this weekend - may you get your rewards in heaven - will be thinking of you all...

    Morning, All:
I thought I would have some definite news about that UM position by now. The Agency called me Thursday afternoon and asked me if I would be available for a three week orientation starting next week. Of course I said yes, and the recruiter told me she would call me back. I waited and waited, and as of yesterday afternoon, she hadn't called. I finally sent her an e-mail and asked her to call me. Instead of calling, she e-mails me back and tells me that she will "definitely call me regarding the position next week".

I'm not sure if she is telling me the truth or leading me on. I know I sound paranoid, but I don't trust Agencies. Besides that, the money I had put back from my last job is running low and like everyone else, I've got bills to pay.

I knew what I was doing when I quit my job without another one lined up, but it was next to impossible to look for one, being out of town five days a week. Hopefully the Agency is telling me the truth versus what they want me to hear, and I will be starting orientation next week.

Speaking of jobs, DS called me last night and told me he will be traveling to Savannah on business next week and will be eating at "The Lady and Sons", Paula Deen's resturant. "You lucky dog!", I exclaimed. Paula is my heroine, having come from humble beginnings and turning her passion for cooking into a great enterprise. I wish I had that kind of passion.

    Have a great holiday weekend!

Good morning! Hope all of you have a nice holiday weekend but please be safe!
My husband is already outside in the back yard doing stuff for the cookout this PM. I think I'm gonna get to Sams early before he leaves to go get tables. Still don't know what time my dryer is going to be delivered (grrrrr!)

Several people dropped off food last night since they won't be here until after 1900 when they get off work. One of the docs came by (he and his wife took cake decorating classes and do beautiful work so they made the cakes.) They went ahead and brought 2 cakes--one is an American flag and the other is a big, yellow chicken. Story behind the chicken cake--one of our military nurses dressed up as a big yellow chicken on Halloween and they called a "Dr. Strong" up on the psych floor. Dr Strong in our facility means that everybody (like the males) goes up to help take down the patient so our nurse goes flying up there (still dressed in the chicken suit--no time to take it off.) So needless to say he's right there in the middle of the takedown dressed as a big yellow chicken. It was talked about for a long time! This nurse I have to say is one of the best I've ever worked with and is moving on to another assignment. He will truly be missed. I just figure that someday that patient is going to tell the story that a big yellow chicken took him down while at our hospital and that's not going to look good in his favor AT ALL! So it was a big joke since. In honor of the Chicken Man, the doc made a chicken looks just like our nurse too. I cannot WAIT for him to see it. I laughed until I cried when I saw it!
I'll post pictures of it before it's cut. You guys gotta see it.
Saying goodbye to friends is always hard. We have 2 military nurses leaving both of which I will miss very much. We also have 2 civilian nurses to farewell and one of our clerks.
    Have a great day!!!
