I like all kinds of salads, but mostly the unhealthy ones like chef salad, caesar salad, antipasto salad....

at work, I make my salad with romaine lettuce and whatever else looks good to me at the time... generally dress it with vinegar and oil.

Last year, Kraft had this great dressing out called Tangy tomato and bacon. I can't find it anywhere now.

cobb salad is regular salad greens plus:
    chicken
    crumbled blue cheese
    sometimes/usually creamy blue cheese dressing
sometimes hard boiled eggs(can live without that)
    bacon bits..the real deal
    sometimes avocado

We eat salads pretty often during the week and they're usually the same-- Really textural and tasty, if I do say so myself! I save time by washing the leaf lettuce, drying it in a salad-spinner, and putting the leaves in a ziploc bag.

    Red leaf lettuce
    Diced red or green peppers
Sliced water chestnuts (from a can)
Chopped up beets (from a can of sliced beets)
    Sliced black olives
    Sliced mushrooms (Occassionally)
Toasted slivered almonds (a *MUST*! Once you try a salad with the toasted almonds, there's no going back. Spread slivered almonds out on a cookie sheet and toast at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Store in fridge.)

For salad dressing, I always use a fat-free Ranch or Honey-Dijon and Hubby likes fat-free Blue Cheese.

    NUMMERS!!!

dole's spring mix or mediterranean. top it with bacon bits and a sprinkle of reduced fat parmesean. i usually use either catalina or fat free honey dijon (t. marzetti's in the refrigerated section... yum!).

i also have kinda a "trick" i've never heard of anyone else doing that really makes salads more interresting. before i add any of the above, i shake some spices on then mix it up to coat the leaves. i use one or two of the following; course-grind garlic powder, cajun seasoning, greek seasoning, lemon pepper.

the only trouble is that spring mix kinda reminds me of lawn clippings.

I was just about to whip up a dee - lish - ous salad for tonight's dinner along with our baked potato and meatloaf (make it with ground turkey).

My favorite salad is a Chef Salad.....and the best one I've ever eaten are the ones The OutBack Restaurant makes. Yummy in my tummy for sure! (lickin' the lips)

There is nothing worse than making up a good salad with the green leaves, tomatoes, bacon bits, bread crumbs, diced eggs (at times), sweet onions, peas, green bell peppers, and cheese than to top it off with a yucky salad dressing............sooooooo....(hee-hee).......I load it down with Blue Cheese dressing everytime. :chuckle Hubby and I love the same things in our salad, and we both love Real Blue Cheese Dressings.

Gosh......I am getting hungry, Sisters and Bruthas! I ate an omelette for breakfast......eggs, green bell peppers, mild cheddar cheese, and diced ham fluffed up rather nicely......two slices of whole wheat toast.....and bottled water. I'm about to go make my favorite Soy Milk Fruit Smoothie.....then won't eat another bite until supper. Hope I can hold out until suppertime cause this Hershey's choco bar is calling my name about now. Laud.....hep me resist the temptation!
