I fear this is not the end, and perhaps only the beginning. Religious hatred and millenia of wars more than likely will continue long after tonight.

I'm not one bit sorry the son-of-a-you-know-what is dead. However, I have my doubts that deposing him, trying him, and taking his rotten life was worth the blood of almost 3000 American service men and women (thus far).......and there is no end in sight to the madness.

I do believe that he deserved what he got, but I am reading on some sites that people here, not in Iraq, who are happy about his death.
I cannot imagine being happy over a death. I was a victim of a horrible crime, and I wait for the day when the perpetrator no longer walks this earth - but to be happy of his death - no, that is not right. Not to me.

Sadaam Hussein was a monster, yes. It only saddens me more that this world is still a very dangerous and frightening place to so many millions of people. Very sad.

I have to say that there's a difference between not being sorry he's dead and actually being happy. It isn't for me to rejoice at someone's demise, but do I truly care? Nope. He's had a longer and happier life than most of his countrymen and certainly more so than his victims. Whatever happens now is out of our hands.

I hope that my use of the word "here" didn't imply this board. I meant in the western world.
