Sad, Sad, Sad!

  1. I couldn't find an already existing thread to put this under, but I had to vent.

Last night we had an All-Star game at our Miller Stadium last night, and the singer who was *supposed* to sing the National Anthem at the opening of the game, didn't know the words!!!

    How embarrassing.

Oy, how horrid! Was the singer an American? How awful to sing a song in public, especially the national anthem & not know the words!

Not happy about this one at all. Soembody cancel the check paid to the singer, quick!

I saw that, and was appalled. With all the leather attachements she had, and the colors of her hair, and the way she put her head back and howled, she looked like a WOLF howling at the moon, and sounded the same way!

As I was watching this travesty I was wondering just who it is, in baseball, that decides who is going to do the National Anthem? Shouldn't they have to audition first, or something?

i was thinking the same thing cathy.
im sure whoever she knew that got her that gig is really embarassed.
our national anthem is hard to sing. it really should be changed to america the beautiful.
there is no excuse for not knowing the words when thats your job.

This...and then Toby Keiths' song is disallowed....'too redneck'.

I am one disappointed American woman.

Same thing happened at the NHL All Star game in 1998 when Bryan Adams started to make up words to O Canada. Freaks!

Yep, they do. Well, usually. Have a friend who set a goal to sing it three times in a certain year.

Ya know what else bugs me is when these musical stars put the national anthem through all kinds of vocal gymnastics to glorify the musician's vocal talent.....

I say let the wonderful song speak for itself...musicians stop trying to change it

maybe we should stop singing it and just chant...the rest of the world think we are weird anyway...
